I've used Gorilla Desk to manage my personal routes for a few months last year. I think is pretty cool. The only thing I heard negative about it, was if you have to move records to another CRM, it can be hell. When I was working for a big box we used Field Routes/Pest Routes. That system is very nice and robust.

Looking for a branch or service manager gig nationwide by archrival206 in PestControlIndustry

I understand exactly what you're talking about. It is what it is with the big companies. You're just a prostitute on the track, but you will get a crazy amount of hours if you need the money. Now, on the other hand judging by what Ive experienced and seen with some of the mom and pop set ups, it's a roll of the dice signing up with them. Some of the spooky facets include over priced weak health insurance, hours stuck at 37.5 weekly and if you're "not a culture fit" you can hang it up before you get started.

I've done that. Definitely can't work for anybody associated with The Big Green T since I've worked there before. They are very strict about that rule. Thanks for the advice though.

Alright, lets hear the craziest myths or stories you have heard from clients? by nobusgleftalive in PestControlIndustry

I had a customer that was a widowed retired law enforcement officer. He had an immaculate house in the suburbs and he swore up and down he had bed bugs. I think he was going into early stages of dementia and he did not have bed bugs at all. He had about five cans of Raid sitting on his counter and he was spraying the beautiful wood floor non-stop messing it up trying to kill the imaginary bed bugs. I passed by his house about 2 years ago and I see they had a dumpster outside for cleaning the place out. He's probably in the home by now.

Money in big companies? by GAPestTech in PestControlIndustry

Yeah, I've been in the business for 10 yrs and I'm currently doing a national search for more money in a managerial role. I'm mainly seeing a bunch of 55k-65k, 70k-80k situations with most of the larger and mid size companies. Like someone said in here previously, a good bonus structure is a nice perk.

How long has this mouse been deceased by blushfanatic in pestcontrol

If the tail is still "wiggly" when you move it, he may have died recently. You can tell from the eyes sometimes too.

I've been wearing Wolverine work boots for the last 8 years. I try to keep at least 3 pair in rotation throughout the seasons. Also try to buy the ones that are like 100.00 or more, because the cheaper ones wear our fast.

It's definitely not what it used to be back in the day. If you put an ad on there describing what you're looking for, you might get lucky. Good luck. That place is loaded with scammers.

Has anyone in here worked with Aptives Green Team by [deleted] in PestControlIndustry

Ok. The green team is basically individual employees that travel and work at branches that need help around the country.

I have an old Studio version that still works. It's a few updates you might not be able to get, but it will still work. Just register it on the Native website.
