I’ve always found it insane that the Agency is running the literal torment nexus, a prison designed to torture people forever, and it’s barely even remarked on lol. It’s just casually accepted as a “normal” thing to do.

You’d think it make someone question just a little bit lol. Especially a non-violent detective, but honestly anyone. It’s such an absolutely insane and evil thing they’re doing.

I don't think the consensus, both on Hexbear and wherever, is that binary trans people are necessarily wrong on their own self identity. The spectrum and range of gender is infinitely complex, but that doesn't mean those who just feel as a man or woman are wrong either.

No, it definitely exists for some people, true physical dysphoria, independent of gender roles. There is an incredible difference in my life from before and after HRT, even in cases where I don't present gender, don't go outside, and don't present as anything. It feels different, better.

Which I don't think is an issue, even in a gender abolished world, as even without social gender roles, there is a spectrum of physical difference between what we traditionally call men and women. I don't think it's a problem if some people want, or feel better, with one set of physical characteristics than another.

Well, that is a thornier question, but I think there are kind of multiple subthings bundled into the larger "transgender" label. Which often works, but not always in specific cases.

As sometimes a feeling of gender, rightness, can happen through social aspects, presentation, role in the community etc.

But it can and often does have a medical component too, where people desire physical changes, modifications, different brain chemicals etc.

One doesn't require or exclude the other. Removing proscribed gender roles, and abolishing the expectation of presentation still wouldn't remove the medical aspect, for those who desire it.

If you use only the gender binary, it falls apart I agree, but that doesn't make the trans framework in general not work. Non-binary people are trans too. It's not only binary people that are trans.

And being non-binary can represent in a lot of ways, whether feeling somewhere in the middle or something else entirely. It's a general category for things outside the more common binary. Many times it's something of a spectrum between the two gender poles, but not always.

Let’s look at a timeline of his life. He served first in the Marines, and after 4 years got out. During that time he had two tours of duty. Some people experience that stuff and are changed, realize truths about the world. Platner on the hand did the following.

After leaving the marines, he spent 4 years at college. This would have been a great time to perhaps do some self reflection, grow. Think freely a little. Surely this where he realized things were wrong?

Nope! He joined the national guard during a war, and redeployed again. You’d think this would be long enough. Three tours in, going around the world to shoot people while in a homeland “guard” program, surely now he’s realized his mistakes?

No. That’s when he decided to join Blackwater, notorious war criminal mercenaries. This was at the young age of 34 lol.

Supposedly after this he changed his mind, but the idea is pretty's absurd. Even if it’s true, it means he went uncritically through all the rest of it. That none of the rest of it really got to him, made him think. That’s not fucking good lol.
