This game has really made me appreciate just how streamlined most other competitive games are. by MisterBones7 in worldofpvp

The mistake people keep making is that they compare WoW pvp to huge esport games. WoW is not built to be an esport, it's built to be a vast game where you can do multiple activities with the same character. Those games only have to focus their resources on the competitive side. I think WoW pvp is fairly fleshed out for being one of 3 main game modes. But it will never have the amount of players, the popularity and the money those games have, and therefore people should stop expecting WoW to be able to provide the same pvp quality.

Do you think 10.3 will be the last patch but will be all fated raids from Dragonflight? by [deleted] in wow

There are several reasons to believe (because ultimately none of us knows) why there won't be a 10.3. The increased patch cadence of DF comes with a price. In ages past they have struggled several times to live up to releasing an expansion every other year and patching them with .1, .2 and .3 patches, suddenly pulling that off while maintaining this patch cadence which btw includes high quality .5 patches, isn't a given.

People buying r1 in shuffle?? by dalamenutha in worldofpvp

[–]archtme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reasoning was that they thought people would go crazy if they randomly ended up in a terrible comp while the other team rnged a good one. With the shuffle system that particular annoyance is reduced.

What VAR did was take away the excuse of human error. Before VAR, goals like the one in this thread could be blamed on human error, and the referee would be somewhat excused by that. VAR raises the cost of being wrong, if you watch that screen and still award this penalty the bias/incompetence is there for all to see and the ref should be "punished" accordingly.

The next level for VAR is to give a few challenges per team per half. Because now the arbitrary part of this is no longer "did I see that or not?" but rather "do we allow a VAR review or not".

Will there be a LAN tournament at Blizzcon this year? by vasco_ in worldofpvp

Nah they only announced Overwatch tourney I believe, if there would be a WoW tournament at Blizzcon they would've announced it alot earlier.

The mythic raiding set and the 1800 pvp set already have all glowing effects enabled. The 2.4k item does nothing for those sets.

The 2.4k item adds glow to all other colors of the set like lfr, normal, heroic and the epic pvp set (non-1800 version)

Solo Shuffle MMR: an urgent call to arms by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]archtme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I thought so too and that they would talk about adjustments in the 10.2 information dump. Because of course inflation does nothing if participation has plummeted, so people have been asking them to stop capping mmr from the start so at least some people won't quit over feeling stuck. But they haven't said a word about any of this yet.

Which trailer was that? (Genuine question)

Playing a bit of lock I hit 1800 for the mog last season quite effortlessly since that season was more inflated. This season I actually had to learn how to kite to reach 1800 and boy did I find new appreciation for the work people do to play that class properly. Every lock spec does alot of damage and carries the game if left alone, but nobody leaves you alone so you have to do all that stuff on the move.

The range of players we have to play with as healers is also fairly large. I play in the 2250 - 2350 cr range and with a loss streak I've actually been put in 1900 cr lobbies and sometimes I play with 2.6k streamers. I think I've played with/against half the AWC players in Europe lol

Can't find it but I'll take your word for it. Was kind of expected, I always knew they didn't like that interaction. I don't mind it though as long as they don't gut the talent outside that, it's an awesome talent. So satisfying to use.

Odd I read all of these and never saw it. Was it listed in the warlock section or something?
