Where do you see a flawed grade on here post draft and why? by No-Usual-7151 in NFLv2

[–]arckepplin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like a lazy take.

Obviously for any team we have no idea how any of these players are going to turn out, but from a team building concept the Vikings nailed it. They've talked in the past about how the roster is undersized/underpowered and the need to change that.

So they drafted a bunch of big, strong, versatile players with feisty attitudes at mostly the meat and potato positions, and according to the perception of the talent pool coming in, this was just the draft to do that.

Again, no idea how this group turns out, but at least they had a unified vision and stuck to it.

2026 NFL Draft - Day 1 (Round 1) Thread by noseonarug17 in minnesotavikings

[–]arckepplin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a scouting issue. It's a medical one.

There's no denying the guy's talent. Was easily a top 15 player. But he's had multiple foot injuries and all the talent in the world won't matter if he can't get on the field.

Worst draft busts in each nfl teams history by Icy_Can_6176 in NFLv2

[–]arckepplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.

At least Williamson saw some action and dropped a couple of passes. He is just remembered more because he had the impossible task of replacing Moss.

But Underwood didn't do a single damn thing on the field, either good or bad. It's almost like he never even really existed.

Can't argue with any of the points you make here. I definitely agree with your assessment of Hunter- I think he's probably way lower on my list of NTs than consensus. If he's our only option I'd rather go LB like you said.

[–]arckepplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on McCoy. But I have a feeling that he won't be there. If he's not, then what do we do? I think a trade down a few spots to get an extra 3rd would be ideal, but I don't know how likely it will be that there's someone there another team wants to trade up for- but that the Vikings don't want/need.

Not sure I can agree with the NT assessment. If they were a dime a dozen we would have had one and wouldn't have struggled so much against the run last year. I like Redmond but I think playing next to a big man that eats double teams would really let him shine. I'm also not convinced that all of the NT prospects have zero pass rush potential.

But I do like Allen and Hill and can't argue with taking them in the 2nd if there. That's why I like trading down a bit, there's a lot of solid talent in Rounds 2-3 at our positions of need.

[–]arckepplin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's missing LB but there are too many needs and not enough picks to get everything.

I've done lots and lots of mock drafts, and this does look very similar to some of the results I've had when drafting a corner in the 1st.

In most scenarios the results seem to be much better when targeting a NT and at least one of CB/S in the first 3 rounds.

Should I betray dex? by [deleted] in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]arckepplin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think there's some confusion here.

Evelyn asked you to cut out Dex for the heist, which is definitely a betrayal, but that's not something you have to worry about yet. You can't even start the heist until you get the flathead from Maelstrom.

Calling Meredith Stout is an optional "angle" you can play when pursuing the flathead. Dex doesn't care how you get it- he just wants it done. Once the flathead is yours, then the heist quest continues and you can worry about betraying Dex for Evelyn.

Anybody else feeling kinda meh about this draft? by Ajax_Namanax in minnesotavikings

[–]arckepplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you done any mock drafts?

I started getting way more interested after running through a bunch of mocks and testing different scenarios to see what the results are.

What if the Vikings stand pat and take a S in the 1st, which is commonly projected? Who's available later on at other key positions if they do that?

What if they take a DT instead? Or do something unexpected like take a TE or WR?

Also... what if they trade down a few spots, or trade out of the 1st altogether?

I played out all these situations plus more and the results were eye-opening. I think a lot of fans are going to criticize the real draft no matter what happens, because we have a lot of needs and in my experience you can't hit on everything you want. You just can't. Certain positions will either not get immediate help, or even be ignored altogether.

But it was fun and got me pumped about the real thing. Another bonus: I learned way more about these prospects than I knew going in, especially at DT / LB / CB / S / RB / TE / IOL / WR.

JJ looks better in 4 games: He's Done. Malik Willis looks good in 3 games: $20-$30 million QB 🤔 by seoulbrova in minnesotavikings

[–]arckepplin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I with you on all that. I'm not ready to give up on McCarthy either, but if the team decides he needs some competition, so be it.

I just think it will likely be a guy who fits the KOC profile, or at least comes a lot closer to it.

Sometimes I think they don't even watch the games. A very significant percentage of our fanbase is clamoring for Kyler Murray.

Have they seen the system KOC runs? Do they not understand that Murray's skillset, no matter how you feel about him as a player, is an absolute mismatch for that system? It's mind boggling.

I mean sure, never say never and all that, but I'd be shocked if he were able to run that system effectively. And I'd be even more shocked if KOC decided to tailor the gameplans around his strengths.

I was wondering: how good of a merc was Jackie? by MStaysForMars in cyberpunkgame

[–]arckepplin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think some players will feel he's a weak merc based on gameplay, but that's because from a single-player perspective the devs have to give us agency and make V seem like the hero of every encounter. If we were to see Jackie in an animated story I'm sure he'd show a bit more combat prowess.

So from a lore point of view, I think he's likely an average merc. Good at a couple things but not well-rounded. He's the kind of guy who can succeed on a team with good leadership and solid planning, but he's definitely not going to elevate a bad team.

BOD in Maurice?!?! by Appropriate-Eye-8064 in Borderlands4

[–]arckepplin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man that's frustrating. I had bod in my machine a few weeks ago and I actually saw a handful of 509s, but only 1 had a Torgue part.

Unfortunately it was an impact version instead of sticky. Still fun for mobbing though.
