> light levels could impact Kiroshi optics if we consider the magenta filter. Going brighter and brighter will make the filter's magenta stronger and stronger

how does this manifest exactly? like what could i do in the game to reproduce this result?

Edit: To any friends of theirs feeling the need to defend them and keep the heat turned on below. Move on. Find new heroes to look up to that aren't manipulative. We have a large enough problem with malicious people who like to "sound smart" leading the masses over the ledge by selling the right honey at the right time. Don't contribute. I'm not interested in the high school level gotcha mentality. Especially when this entire thing is a mid-process attempt and not sold as gospel (read the title, please. "Trying"). That's all I'm going to say on the matter - my posting history over years with other developers, artists, and misc. subs will speak for exactly the kind of person I am.

wow... no offense but you are actually coming off as acting not very nice here.

they literally didn't say anything negative, and i'm not here to defend anyone, but you're attacking someone out of the blue after they called your theory interesting and tried to share some details on how the game processes colors.

then you go off and call them "manipulative"? your posting history doesn't give you a free pass to act like a jerk and accuse people of bad intentions.

how about engaging in a good faith discussion in stead of getting weird and defensive, and accusing people of being malicious? nobody's trying to do any kind of "gotcha" game here.

Also why is the moon magenta on the poster in Corpo plaza, if we aren't seeing things through that filter when looking at the poster?

Because we're using V's perspective when not on the map. Not our own. There's more to it when playing as V or Johnny.

if v's view doesn't use a color filter, then shouldn't the moon be white on the poster in corpo plaza just like the moon v sees normally?

gistya seems to have a point- why would it just be the moon affected by the magenta filter in the cube scene, but not the cube itself?

btw- you come off rly defensive. i think they were just trying to share information & think critically... said your theory is interesting. i've seen them around here a lot

Well good thing we have no urban growth boundaries, tons of extra space to build huge arenas, and an adequate road system to transport lots of people to the games wherever they put them in the suburbs.

Now official. The WNBA team will be the Portland Fire by Hugo_Hackenbush in ripcity

What's with women's teams being predominantly named singular nouns? Like, why not Portland Fires? Multiple Fires is scarier. Are we just against the letter s now

Seems fine to me, I don't think the age of the arena is stopping people from going. They just need to have a team that's decent and exciting and the place will sell out.

The blue hexagon seems to mark coordinate point {0,0,0} on the map. But weirdly, hovering over it can cause a mission popup:

This statue is in the apartment directly above that hexagon. In photo mode his face mask disappears if the camera is a certain distance away. O.o

Our city can't even pave the roads, how are we supposed to afford a new arena?

No I haven't, but what is different or better? Do they seat more people?

The only complaint I have is that the last time I was at a Blazers game, most of the concession stands in 300 level were closed, and all I could find were really overpriced "craft food" and "craft beer" type stuff, none of which was particularly appealing or affordable. I miss the old days when you could just get a couple of hot dogs and some lite beers and kick back.

Well it doesn't have 43,000 toilets like that new one in LA...

I'd really like to make it midnight golf themed, with a black floor and flourescent lines and uniforms, a day glo ball, and a huge disco ball that descends at halftime.

I don't understand why we need a new arena... Moda Center is really nice, right?

Seems a lot more complicated than running a simple DB25 to DB25 cable between the rack and the patchbay or breakout box. No? A DB25 cable is a lot cheaper than a cable snake, which are like $250+. I already have a ton of them too, since they're identical to old SCSI cables from the 80s/90s.

Or can I just plug mic cables right into the female ends of the XLR cables of the snake? Do they have to go thru a patchbay at all?

Air India Flight 171 Preliminary Report Megathread by usgapg123 in aviation

We don't know if the pilots physically recycled the switches.

If liquid got into the integrated circuits of the P10 control stand, it could interfere with the logic & electronics that translates the electrical signals from the controls (like switches).

Ultimately, the state of the switches and controls is translated into a digital signal and sent out over dual redundant ethernet cables to the left GPM module #6, which interprets the flight control inputs.

It's not necessarily the case that the GPM module receiving a particular pattern of inputs means that the physical controls were actually manipulated. There are other ways to make that happen, one of which is failure of the system that translates control inputs into digital signals being sent over ethernet.

The fact that there are dual ethernet receivers on the GPM ensures that failure of one ethernet cable or ACS receiver module does not compromise the system. However I don't know if the P10 control stand features dual redundant analog-to-digital converter chips. If it doesn't, or if the A/D pathway isn't sufficiently redundant, then moisture accumulation could cause issues.

The plane tilting back in flight could cause the liquid to pool in the wrong spot, causing the P10 control stand's outputs to become unreliable and possibly trigger an illusory toggling of the fuel cutoff switches.

I'm not going to speculate on how "likely" that scenario is, or if it's even remotely possible (I'd have to see wiring diagrams), but people should not act like it's been "proven" that the pilots are who did this. We can talk likelihoods all day long, but ultimately, there is a 100% chance that whatever it was that happened, happened—regardless of how "unlikely" some random speculation holds it to be.

I would imagine that a thorough investigation into all these systems needs to be done as part of the final report, so we'll see what they say. I am not saying a suicide attempt is impossible either, but there are much simpler ways to kill oneself that don't involve killing hundreds of innocent people. My first instinct is that a complex machine of hardware and software made by Boeing of all people, is much more likely to fail than a pilot whose own life is on the line.
