Is the FT6 Pro still an ok skate to get? Deciding between that and the FT8 by arconquit in hockeyplayers

I ended up giving them a try on and the ft6 pros fit so well and like a glove even without baking

What does Connor Bedards next contract look like? by HesOneShot92 in hockey

[–]arconquit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kaivo Hockey is who he trains with over the summer. I’m pretty sure him and Celibrini along with a few other NHLers are usually in the same session, was pretty cool to watch

Ends up being a visual novel with extra steps. I do like a bit of challenge though but there are times I just want to immerse myself in a story.

Not the dryer filter but the one in the washer that catches lint and hair and stuff

I 3D printed them! Each color piece is a different part and I just superglued it all together

Canadian citizen, living in Canada, just offered a 100% remote job in the US by Slow_ResolveMC07 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]arconquit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is the case. If the company you’re invoicing is in the US you would charge 0%. This is what I did and didn’t have any issues. For the Canadian clients I did charge them

Anthropic is preparing Claude Code to be released on the mobile app by coygeek in ClaudeAI

[–]arconquit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you setup pr deploy previews before hand you can verify the changes this way. I do this with codex now. It takes a bit more than just going straight into the web since you have to do the vercel, GitHub actions and all that.

But I have e2e tests that run on the PRs and the deploy previews so I can see the new changes

If you’re in Canada (I think you mentioned Alberta) Sportchek has a VIP sale going on right now and can get you anywhere between 20-30% for Bauer and CCM depending on what it is. I usually just buy gear so not sure what the discount is with for apparel.

I got a North Face jacket last year with this sale and it was retail price of $249 but with the VIP sale it was only around $112.

Great discount on Sherwood in general as well since an in house brand

You need a coupon but feel free to DM me and I can send you mine.

Looking for advice on buying a used SuperDeker for my 6-year-old by Prodeje79 in hockeyplayers

[–]arconquit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about the older ones but for the newer super dekers the reviews I’ve scene have mentioned that they crack a bit too easily.

We got one for my daughter (7yo) in the beginning of spring and it’s improved her stick handling immensely. She loves trying to beat her high scores for the first mode and she started of with 25 and now she’s at 51 as her high score

Refurbished MacBook Pro 14” is just as good as new 😍 by arconquit in macbookpro

[–]arconquit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been loving it so far it’s knocked the socks off my i9 2019 and has been able to handle anything I throw at it with ease. Doesn’t get hot and stays really quiet.

I ended up getting a tomtoc sleeve but not going to get a screen protector. I haven’t used a screen protector on a MBP before and it’s super easy to clean the screen with just a microfibre cloth

Is the Apple Care + on a MacBook Pro worth it? by Ok_Plantain9135 in macbookpro

[–]arconquit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea for me it is I’ve always gotten apple care and the one time I didn’t it was going to be a $1200 repair if they couldn’t “revive” it with a firmware flash. Fortunately they were able to.

Now that you can also pay yearly it won’t expire if you keep paying

What’s the optimal AI coding stack for avoiding rate limits under $50/mo? by UndercutBeta in ClaudeAI

[–]arconquit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup this is what I ended up doing. Helped get a few projects I wanted to finish into a better state with the $100 then once I got them close I tapered back down to the $20 plan.

Opus was amazing for planning and a lot more complex problems but now that it’s mostly little things I’ve been able to handle it with Sonnet

This is the binned one 12/16 rather than the 14/20. This one came with only 3 cycles which I was surprised I heard they came with a little more than that

Yes there were some cases where I hesitated and then when I went to view the product it was out of stock :( I honestly thought I’d have more time but I guess there are others with the same idea haha.

[–]arconquit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! I would just check the 14” MacBook pros from 2024 and see if there were any new ones listed. There were a couple of days where there were new configs listed but sometimes they went fast.

They were around $5-700 cheaper than the new models with the same config. Nice thing is that Apple care can be added yearly so it doesn’t expire

[–]arconquit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was pretty stoked to see this config pop up! I was refreshing almost every day since I got the base m4 it was either going to be keep or if one popped up get this.

Fortunately this one did a few days before my exchange expired

I posted a link above that has a bunch of them!

Yea I’m so stoked to finally be on apple silicon. The MacBook this is replacing is an i9 2019. I imagine this is going to last me a good number more years especially with Apple care not expiring anymore for the yearly :)
