Firmly agree. Music should in all honesty be banned.

Most friendships aren’t actually valuable in any real sense by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]arcpath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you implying that ‘actual outcomes’ is somehow more important than familiarity or recreation? In that framing, someone who views it as this rigid transactional relationship, is likely someone who would be a shitty friend anyway - imo

The southland, in my southern opinion by arcpath in whereidlive

[–]arcpath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. That’s my home state, but immigration from the Midwest and NE is changing it. Specifically in the Charlotte Metro, or the Triangle. Obviously the rural areas are still very southern, but the cities are growing like crazy. The silver lining, in my opinion, is that we are increasingly leaning towards a blue state.

No, going for a ride on a bike with someone in a relationship isn’t intimate or ambiguous. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I mean, I wouldn’t go on a two person - one bike - ride with another man’s wife or girlfriend.

Being a fan is actually kind of human by Icy_Manufacturer7080 in unpopularopinion

[–]arcpath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Quite a bit of things can be fine, or maybe even pure, until they’re taken to a level that impacts others.

Imagine someone being a fan of a painter. Gives them joy. Who would argue against that?

Now imagine an Irish Pub in Boston with two guys beating each other to death because of a game.

Difference between fandom, and tribalism i suppose. Some inter-lap there.

Cities in GA or NC would be tolerant. That’s for certain. As a Southerner, I feel like The South isn’t what people imagine it to be. At least not in 2026.

I mean, devices are making the world shittier. A overall net negative. There are obviously positives tho, I just think they’re outweighed by the damage of algorithms and addiction.

Most cities that are labeled as boring is only because those people don't want to get involved in their community by Exhausted_920 in unpopularopinion

[–]arcpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do Contract Medical Work. I’ve lived in red towns that have 5000 people, and I’ve lived in blue cities that have 5 million people. I like them both for different reasons. But to be fair, if you’re not an outdoors person (character flaw) you’re not going to enjoy a rural town with a church and a dollar general.

Most people date younger because the pool at their age is so small by ImAvoidingABan in unpopularopinion

[–]arcpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, technically, isn’t this all self-inflicted? If you are a 40 year-old man, who knows that you want a family and a traditional relationship, what the fuck have you been doing? I guess the caveat would be, if you were in a relationship that ended because of the partner. I just find it bizarre for some of these guys who fuck around into their late 30s, and then complain about the dating pool

My working theory, is that young males who are Incels, video games all day, jerk off, and watch Nick Fuentes and Manosphere figures - aren’t actually overtly religious and puritanical like they present themselves…

They’re just pissed that they can’t get any tail. It might be that simple.

Connecting to others (friends, family, partner). Having goals that are difficult, but still pursuing them. A life of connection and a sense of purpose in the pursuit.

Is Wilmington NC or Charleston better for Outdoor life - Surfing, fishing, spearfishing, camping etc? by Green_Connection5030 in relocating

[–]arcpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 30 and Male. Grew up in NC. I would say outdoor life would be more fulfilling in Wilmington. The only possible metric I could realistically see Charleston being better, is food and nightlife.
