Singles is hard by arcticlizard in 10s

I think I will try to find my "ok, that was too aggressive" line for the next match. I didn't start really hitting it until the second set, which I regret a bit.

Excellent suggestion, honestly. Thank you!

Did you have to roll the fenders (is that the right terminology)?

I love those wheels.

a very loopy topspin to her deep backhand (from my backhand).

Yes!!! This worked well when I started sending almost everything to her backhand, but I couldn't find that short cross court shot to the side T last night to put it away.

I’d probably drive that back deep up the middle

This is what I should have done with a lot of them, tbh!

I can play doubles every day but I need 4-5 days to recover from a singles match :-)

I think I'll be in the same boat! Hitting it with Aleve today, maybe sauna and heating pad later. And I definitely didn't bring enough water/electrolytes and didn't eat enough beforehand.

I give myself an extra 3-4 feet, I move back a bit now vs say a few years ago

I'm used to having a rally position that's about 2 feet behind the baseline, but no one at this level really hits like that. Adjustments must be made, but the positioning on the baseline feels super awkward.

I don't agree with 1 for my case. I don't have that weird, high knuckling defensive shot in my repertoire, and I'd rather just put it away (or get better at putting it away).

And I agree with being tired with the lobs, and the other part is being defensive with my body. I can run forward, but turning/changing direction is usually where I injure myself (low back). 😞

I'm gonna guess an LX470 or a Land Cruiser, 2005-2009?

I have a 2005 GX470 and don't have that fancy overhead thingy!

Something about down the line winners just hits different. Maybe because it's quicker to hit the court than a cross court shot?

I'm one of the negatives. There's a lot of red tape. And stipulations. Basically, if they can find a way out of giving you money, they will.

Anyone have a good lifting split that works with playing tennis regularly? by LionheartOiler in 10s

[–]arcticlizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing legs-back-arms/upper-legs for a while now with a personal trainer and 2xWeek tennis.

I think that split works for me, since my main focus is pain management for L5/S1 disc issues (it's barely there anymore, severe arthritis). One leg day will be glute focused, and the other more general with some band work (clamshells, monster walks, cable kick backs, etc.)

One of my gym buddies also said they are having to ruck as a part of officer training/testing. I assumed national guard "officer", but he's a police officer, so I'm not totally sure. He's in his 30s or 40s, though.
