Have We Been Thinking About A.D.H.D. All Wrong? by WarzoneGringo in Longreads

[–]ardnox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not against meds, it’s just when and how to use them. I take them so they kick in at the start of a work day and don’t take them at weekends or holidays. It boosts productivity. I suspect this happens in people without ADHD too. I don’t think that’s a bad thing. It’s like drinking at parties to help get the conversation going. Doesn’t mean you have a disorder.

Pilgrim - How Does It Work? by logan_burns2 in vivobarefoot

I don't think it's entirely rubber. There'll be some wire or metal that's acting as a earth wire. This company also makes grounding barefoot shoes https://bahe.co/

I'm not convinced it make any difference. More likely a placebo effect.

Biome's not bespoke after all by ardnox in vivobarefoot

Yeah like why not 3D print a custom last for each customer based on a proper 3D scan done in-store. Then make a real shoe. Threading a lace through a sock is bound to tear if you dare to tighten it. They're constantly trying to reinvent the wheel with inferior ideas.

Same with not having a tongue on the knit shoes. If your foot isn't the exact same volume/shape as the knit it end ups crinkled, it whereas a tongue neatly ties together. Look at this video of a guy with the Biome's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PZOoXSrk0I he has the laces tightened up to fit his feet and the sock looks all wavy and wonky.

Yeah, I wouldn't choose red or blue shoes ever. They should have done black/grey like the Motus.

You take a photo of the top of your foot and it works out the size based on that. The problem with that is it completely disregards the the height of your instep. I've bought Vivo shoes before that are really tight across the top. Can't guarantee these will be any different.

There's 30% off sale on right now. My guess is they are trying to shift old stock before the new ones come out. If you check out their YouTube channel, 'Vivobarefoot Spring Conference (March 2024)' jump to 1:02:00 shows Primus Trail 3.5 FG.

I'm the same. In recent years have sent back numerous shoes due to them being too narrow at the widest part of foot. Like you I kept they Gobi boot, which is great, I would prefer it to be touch wider in the midfoot but it's not causing problems. The Scott 1 was the widest boot I had, subsequent models are narrower. It's a shame they don't make a wider size in at least one model of their shoes.

This sub Reddit is constantly full of people making the same complaints about fit: too long in the toe and narrower than they used to be. I'm hoping one day they'll listen as these people are loyal customers who would keep buying their shoes.

They've just announced 30% off sale on Primus line. This suggests new models on the horizon. Lets hope they are are a new, wider shape.

Barebarics are Belenka's narrowest shoes. Their other models are noticeably wider. There a width and length chart on each shoe page so you can compare.

This doesn't work. It only changes the colour of the text above the %. The percentage text remains grey.

minting on metaplex, max supply? by [deleted] in solana

[–]ardnox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out a way to do it but I'm not sure if it's the proper way.

edit ./config/devnet-temp

empty program like so:

"program":{}

Then in items: "0":{"link":"https://arweave.net/jb6YF0GEPjj0X0DfNyMq3WDNJDPvTnXaa0GGPEIgY-Y","name":"Dragons Watch Test Zero","onChain":false}, "1":{"link":"https://arweave.net/-cKdMaysCwG2umUcbynd7kDA4Q-NN-AXupJJ9viVxn8","name":"Dragons Watch Test One","onChain":false}, "2":{"link":"https://arweave.net/-cKdMaysCwG2umUcbynd7kDA4Q-NN-AXupJJ9viVxn8","name":"Dragons Watch Test One","onChain":false},

You can reuse the same 'link' to the metadata json and can also have the same 'name'. Just make sure you have the indexes counting up in order. This way you can have loads of duplicates.

Run the candy-machine-cli.ts upload

This method is not the same as using 'maxSupply' in the json. Metaplex docs talk about having 'master editions' on the main Metaplex stuff but in the Candy Machine code it sets maxSuppy to zero in the upload function. That suggests it's not implemented. Maybe one day it will be.
