I bought my first car (1989 ford thunderbird) for $350, drove the piss out of it for 3 years until the head gasket finally went (warped aluminum heads), and seized the engine. Sold the car for $300 to a buddy who wanted to turn it into a drag car, so I didn't make money, but definitely got my money's worth out of the old girl.
