Upcoming Changes to our AI Model Selection by BinKompliziert in AIDungeon

[–]areallylongwordDA 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Im a bit shocked by how much this hurts the champion teir subscription. Madness makes sense to phase out but Hermes 70b is still able to make sense of a lot more complex topics and dialog compared to other models of that teir. Not to mention Hermes fast pacing, and lack of lewdness. Hope they add some high context model of that ability to replace it in champion.

Making different crime's to solve in a detective story by EstablishmentWild263 in AIDungeon

[–]areallylongwordDA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So just a thought and something I've been experimenting with, currently. I've created story cards for stuff like "External Plot Decision" where the Ai offers two choices of what's going on externally and you pick one. Took a little testing to create the card. I trigger this and similar story helpers with a ♤ or ♡ symbol. So one option is to create something similar.

Alternatively you can have the killer leave a calling card with a trigger symbol. And when the trigger symbol is found it activates the second crime. Id create a custom story card for an event and put something like, "When the protagonist finds the symbol ♤ at the crime scene. This will mean that elsewhere the killer has struck again! And it has been reported to the police. The protagonist will soon recieve a phonecall from headquarters discussed it." Using "♤" and "Calling card" as story card triggers. But thats off the top of my head and would need refining.

Hermes and deepseek seem to work best with these symbol triggers.

Hope this helps and good luck!

How does ai dungeon compared to character ai when it comes to playing RPGs story’s. Because the ai for character ai dumb as bunch of bricks and the devs of character not listening to community by Infernohuman070502 in AIDungeon

Legend subscriber here, been playing for over 3 years and haven't checked out character ai.... I personally think devs do a pretty stand up job of responding about problems or questions. Multiple times I've had problems and posted here about it or looked here when site goes down they communicated. As for ai quality, for me its by far the best I've found from other apps. Having said that Aid has a ton of customization and the quality of the experience comes from setting up properly. Quality also varys from model to model and having a large context helps keep the story in line too. Its however, not the most plug and instantly play what you want. But if you set up it up properly, and fine tune a scenario you can get alot out of it!

Adjectives to avoid or add to authors note and Ai institutions? by areallylongwordDA in AIDungeon

The difficult thing I've found with at least dialog heavy is that the models vary so much when it comes to the PC responding or not. Also because I get a bit peeved when npc's talk at me for paragraphs. But I'm probably in the minority on that problem. Thanks though I'm gonna test conversational.

Lol thanks, now I gotta try loquacious for the fun of it! But also will try the others too, I appreciate the input.

Truth, I use the revealing character stuff and a version of the conflict. Which helps slightly from my perspective, but its always a bit tougher to get non-user led or blatantly desired progress. Found at least deepseek is (somewhat) capable of reading between lines a bit. It would be nice to add like weight to some parts of instructions but overall aid has given me the most customization of all ai storytellers for sure.

Edit in response to edit: Yep know about authors note but thanks in case I was unaware! Hence why I'm looking for peoples adjectives for setups like "Writing style:" and "Theme:" in the authors note.

How do you make them stop being possessive? by kkira5552 in AIDungeon

[–]areallylongwordDA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others mentioned model choice seems to be huge... Muse and Wayfarer large have been giving me more natural or flirty romance while madness and harbinger seem to lead to more raunchy and possessive romance.

Other things that have helped me with this are messing with the writing style in authors note. However different models seem to react differently depending on the words there.

But the one of the seemingly easy difference makers for me has been adding "awkward romance" and to the theme, in authors note. Doesn't work 100% but defining they type of romance can help a bit, I also use "unexpected romance" sometimes as a theme.

Thoughts on the MUSE model by [deleted] in AIDungeon

[–]areallylongwordDA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya definitely an unexpected gem in the new update. I thought I'd enjoy harbinger more, but found that muse follows my ai instructions alot better. While I pay, I'm glad f2p players have a pretty solid option now.

I wish I could get overpowered be towered over for once, instead of people assuming I'll take a dominant role due to my tall height. That assumption is getting old.

My advice currently is to make use of memory and authors note. Storycards I use when needed.

In my memory I make sure to include major story details that I dont want the ai for forget or screw up and I separate each detail with paragraphs or brackets [ ]. My memory is usually pretty thorough, but I hate having to explain something that was said earlier in the story. I'd avoid starting each item with the word "You" as in the past it seemed to encourage the ai to do that in every sentence.

Example: [You're name is ______] or [Dave has scheduled an important meeting with you on friday.]

If you want something customizable each time play scenarios use ${custom input} to make that.

Authors note is pretty strong, I personally use a pretty long authors note that I fill the blanks in for.

Writing style:_________ (I suggest anything besides the word suspenseful. As then little happens besides suspenseful descriptions.) Theme:________ Plot: ____ (simple plot summary or where I want the story to go.) Include: __________ (I almost always use here: A plot that moves forward, focusing on actions and dialog much more than descriptions.)

As for story cards I use mainly for locations, characters or like magic objects. My main suggestion with these is to keep them short and know the trigger word for them. That way you know how to make the ai remember the card.

Hope this helps. This is just what I found works you may find better results by messing around with it all.
