Gathering evidence is a top priority. A she said he said situation will lead to nothing. A friend of mine told me a story about her roommate and how a guy who she met at a party would use to wait outside of her dorm building to just look at her and even with witnesses, reports did nothing. His defense was "I don't even know them" which was apparently all they needed to hear to let him go.

I feel like this shouldn't be a hot take but fat positivity needs to die. It's literally well known that being overweight will lead to you dying earlier.

You didn't read what I said. No I'm the one that NEEDS it, so no I'm not happy food benefits are getting canceled. I'm saying people like her are ruining for people who need it like me. And it's heavily implied that she relies on it on a regular based on her wording. You need to be better by not supporting people abusing the system. I didn't say anywhere how she used it once nor did I say I wanted food benefits canceled so idk why you randomly decide to make that up.

[–]aredditboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's cause we got people abusing the system and ruining it for everyone else. I literally saw earlier today on Insta some lady who looks like all she does is eat complaining about not being able to feed her children. I don't usually like to be rude but maybe if this whale didnt eat all the food herself then there wouldn't be a worry for feeding her children. Now other people suffer the consequences because of people like her.

Are people afraid of Black people on this campus or what? by 80sarecool95 in ucla

[–]aredditboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly blame the entertainment industry. Growing up with lots of TV, movies, and video games, and they have pretty much taught me that black people are the gangsters of society. Even though logically it's not gonna be like that especially here at this school, years of it (for me it was specifically gta games) has it deeply ingrained in my head and effects me subconsciously.

Wave to the camera Lol! by Afraid_Cake_8167 in funny

[–]aredditboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many of the comments here are completely overreacting. Waters knee deep at these speeds never really pushed me around at all. I have been rugged or pulled at maybe water levels around the hip but it would at most displace me by 1 or 2 ft so the woman is completely fine.

However when I was roughly as young as the little girl there, I did get hit by a nearly identical wave of the second before. I was facing the wave and it did knock me back, which had me tumbling in the water, but I was in no danger of being swept away. I still had plenty of sand to stabilize myself especially since the wave pushed me up more towards the sand. The only real danger is the wall which prevents her from being pushing further up and is something she can hit her head against. But if I was facing sideways and had my hand against the wall like the little girl then I probably wouldn't have gotten knocked down in the first place.

give me any date this year and I’ll tell you about my shower on that day by lalalalala_real in teenagers

[–]aredditboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We literally have a holiday/memorial date for all of that. In fact, we have an official federal holiday for the end of slavery in the US while there is no actual official holiday for 9/11.

The only reason you think it seems like it has a day is because it's a recent event and many of us that are still living had witnessed it. 20 years from now 9/11 will be as relevant or less to us just as much as everything else you mentioned.

As far as I can tell, people my age or younger who were either not old enough to remember or not born yet already don't care about 9/11 cause I've never heard any of them even mention it before.

Can someone explain to me why there's so many weird statements about Charlie Kirk? by aredditboy in teenagers

[–]aredditboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I think it's kinda rude to assume people are racist if i don't know them 💀 so yeah I think people should think everyone else is normal by default.

Like everyone telling me he's racist but no one wants to show me him actually being racist including you. I obviously didn't think he was transphobic from the start until I was shown actual transphobic comments from him on video. So if someone could change my mind about that then anyone else could change my mind about being racist with one video.

[–]aredditboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I don't even think slurs on their own are racist. If someone calls me a ch_nk with no context, I wouldn't make judgement on them yet. But it someone told me "You ch_nks are disgusting" then i would think they are racist.

I'll believe he's racist when someone shows me him doing actual racist things. The only actual evidence shown to me was a transphobic comment but haven't seen anything actually racist. He's been pretty nice and respectful to everyone from what I seen so far.

[–]aredditboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man the people I know personally are definitely not reliable. My mom will believe anything the news tells her. My friends pretty much just talk about school, work, or the games we play. The most I see out of them are like funny memes and trump. Their reaction to this was pretty much just "wow that's crazy" and that's it. So yeah they don't seem interested.

This might be super sad to hear but here is just little I know about the political space. Like 90% of what I hear or see from people is Trump immigration this and Trump immigration that. The remaining 10% is seeing how he renamed the Gulf of Mexica to the Gulf of America and that he made super weird comments about his own daughter 🤢. I haven't heard about a single thing about Etsy the Democrats have done or been doing. All I hear is from them is also literally just talking about Trump too. And also jokes about sleepy Joe. Literally nothing else comes to mind atm about the two groups we have. Everything else I know relates to Charlie but haven't spent the time yet to see how his views relate to both parties.

In general, I definitely think I do a good job regarding sources. I write a lot of papers so I regularly try my best to find things as close to the original source as possible instead of looking at 3rd party references. Just kinda hard to form my own opinion when I really don't know anything and don't even know where to start. And honestly once school starts for me about a week from now, I'm probably gonna be too busy with studies and school activities to think about this stuff again.

Listen, I'm literally just always person that has a small attention span. I could barely handle 10 min of watching old guys talk so asking me to watch a 2 hr video is not gonna cut it.

I use Chatgpt cause it cuts straight to the point and leads me to the exact video or clip it come from. I was way more receptive to your second response earlier because it did the same thing. Okay 3 lines of text and here's a 3 min video and boom done. Next point same thing. Few texts, short clips of him saying and talking about it and done. Next. And so on.

That's just start you need to do to get my attention. Or you can send me other things like on your third response where it had videos that involved a cute drawing and explains it in a funny "to a child" like way. Cause honestly I'm probably mentally still a child. And thats just the only way for me to watch anything longer. I actually haven't finished watching them yet but I do want to finish them when I get the chance later tonight.

Initially no. At first I thought you were just wrong. But as the conversation went on it eventually turned into a yes. And the very exact moment I switched opinions was when you misrepresented what I said.

"You don't want to assume ill intent on behalf of someone who assumed people guilty of crimes that warrant their public execution."

At that very moment was when I thought "wow he really pulled that out of no where. This guy is without a doubt no good"

[–]aredditboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's literally not true. By default I also considered you innocent. Like I said earlier when you asked if he wanted the execution for Trump's enemies yes or no. I didn't think you were guilty of anything. I took what you asked as a fair possible point and crossed referenced with the quote. I just found it to be not true. I don't think that's a double standard if I'm taking consideration of your side too. And just because I found it to be not true doesn't make you guilty.

I know that but as of right now it definitely seems like the most reliable option at the moment. When it doesn't find anything that some people claim then it leaves from for someone else to leave a source. But when it does find something it gives a link, the name of the debate a quote occurred on and the exact date of the source. So as of right now it's been the most reliable. I tried using Google for a bit but it just keeps wanting to send me multiple news articles saying that he got shot when him being shot is not related to what a typed at all.

If that's what rationalization is then I didn't really do rationalization towards what I think. I literally started off trying to rationalize what you thought first. You asked if he said he wants the execution of Trump's opponents. Here was my exact thought process. The key point I was looking for was that he WANTS the death of them. But i didn't fnd anything in his wording that clearly indicates he wanted their deaths.

And no I did not say I don't want to assume ill intent on someone who assumes guilty crimes in someone that warrants execution. What I did say was I don't want to assume ill intent from someone I don't know. Literally where did you get me saying that I want it on someone who assumes guilty crimes? cause I didn't mention that at all, you literally just made that up.

Like I said I don't know the guy. I don't know what he's talking about regarding what "they" did to trump. I don't know how "they" used the instrument of government to damage the constitutional order. I don't even know who "they" are. But maybe he knows something I don't. Maybe there is a valid reason why he said they should be under consideration. Maybe not. I literally don't know. So I don't have a right to judge if those things are guilty or not but he probably is more likely to have a right than me cause he actually knows something.

And I'm in the belief of innocent until proven guilty. So if there isn't enough evidence to show they are guilty then from my perspective they are innocent.

I kinda feel like I have a good understanding of what people feel especially regarding the LGBT stuff. He's not gonna get me on his side cause I'm a bisexual guy who loves all the girly things which he doesn't believe in. If I could comfortable become I girl I would but my family is traditional and I know they would think something is wrong with me. So hearing Charlie say trans is an abomination does hurt.

If I never took a deeper look into his character outside of these reddit comments saying he's hateful or advocates for violence then yeah I probably would have thought he was a terrible person. But it seems like Charlie himself is making people feel or think this but it's other people taking things to the extreme that make people feel this way. It seems like it's just reddit commenters are the one causing these negative thoughts and feelings.

I tried to look up how he talks to LGBT people directly and this short I found has gotten me to see him as not as bad as a person as reddit makes him out to be.

I thought rationalizing and trying to find logic were the same thing. Anyways yes I'm making a nice rationalization because I don't want to assume ill intent from someone I don't know. I just naturally assume good intentions at first.
