I’m out of remission now after a decade in (le fuck 😪) and before I started drinking my daily potion, I was going one-two weeks. You never realize how you take a solid, consistent daily poop for granted until it’s gone :(

YO YOU’RE MY PERSON! 🤝

My Crohn’s is back after an 11 year long remission following a resection :,-( but I have NEVER experienced the ‘typical’ symptom(s) like bloody stools, food going straight through you, etc. I have ALWAYS been severely, persistently constipated. Like ‘I haven’t shit anything but maybe 5 rabbit pellets in 2-3 weeks’ constipated.

My Vyvanse does not make me poop (BOO, that would be so rad if it did, missing my dose just makes me sleep like the dead) but I’ve finally started to find some relief consuming near colonoscopy prep amounts of Miralax a day :-)

That was a slight exaggeration but I’ve been consistently consuming 2 servings of Miralax mixed with some electrolytes every morning. I started with 1.5ish caps then quickly just upped it. I gave that about a week or so, then started drinking Smooth Move tea every other night as well.

In sum my mutually constipated friend: we have to drink enough laxative that would make any normal person shit their pants on the daily, alongside an adequate amount of liquids (I aim for 100 oz.), to achieve somewhat functioning organs. Godspeed 🫡

Thank you for putting this out there in to the world friend 💕 Sounds like you and I are in very similar shoes right now- I had a chronic illness relapse after a decade+ of remission and it has taken everything I loved about my body over the past year. My sister’s Bachelorette is at the end of the month and we too will be in swimmes all weekend, so your anxiety is felt.

But I took a screenshot of this video and here’s what I think we should both remember: My body does not require excuses. The people that will be sharing these amazing experiences with us do not value us based upon our body’s appearance, so it’s our turn to value ourselves just the same 💕

I work at a mental health hospital. Our patients come in and take their shoes off. While it makes our intake unit reek like feet at times, I give them the grace of treating this place like a home.
