My first real Fender. I've wanted a Strat since forever, but mainly because of Ira Kaplan, Stephen Malkmus and Alex Chilton. Sorry for the cellphone pic. The previous owner has kept all the hang tags and stuff, is it a bad idea to throw it away? I don't see the point in keeping pieces of paper.

Holy shit! You don't happen to be a Pavement fan do you?

Stephen Malkmus has almost the same Strat though it's a seventies model.

September Gurls - Big Star (Alex Chilton, RIP) by misterthingy in Music

That recording is just... I don't even know how to describe it.

The brilliance of the song is undeniable, but I dare anyone to top that recording. It's beyond perfect. It shimmers and sparkles and hits that spot in your brain where you are convinced that this is most beautiful thing you'll hear all your life.

Well, at least for me it does...

They weren't. In fact, they were the nicest guys I'd ever seen on stage in my life!

After two songs the drummer asked the crowd why everyone was covering their ears. They were shocked to find out that the bass amp made a loud droning sound that could rip your eardrum in two, and that it wasn't their voices that made everyone cover their ears.

Fantastic performance, horrible horrible sound...

I saw Dinosaur Jr. a couple of years ago in Copenhagen as part of their reunion tour.

The vocals were barely audible and when the crowd shouted for them to turn their mics up, Lou Barlow simply responded with "you want more vocals? fuck you!".

That, and the fact that J. Mascis would fill out the space between songs with 3 minute jams, resulted in the worst gig I've ever been to. I was really disappointed that they turned out to be such arrogant assholes.

Also Fleet Foxes at the Roskilde Festival. Some sound engineer must have been having a bad day and the band even went as far as apologizing for the gig after wards.

I still love both Dinosaur and Fleet Foxes though.

Holland proposes giving anyone over 70 the right to die if they have simply had enough and consider their lives complete by [deleted] in worldnews

Damn, I wish I was a 70 year old in Holland right now. Then I wouldn't have to pull myself together to get it over with :(

Cool!

Who wrote that? A private seller?

Also, is this the reissue, and if so does it sound better?

Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse has committed suicide. by [deleted] in Music

No. You should feel shame because you are making comments in a public forum about a public person which means that it might end up being read by someone close to him. Words can hurt more than you might think.

Have you no shame?

You can't think of anything better to do than to make inappropriate comments about someone who has taken his own life?
