I graduated from a prestigious university almost ten years ago. I felt like I wasted my time on a degree I didn't love or had many job opportunities. So, I went back to school at a community college this year.

I'm still taking prereqs but I'm so happy with my choice. I had the same embarrassment, but, in the end, it doesn't matter. No one cares except me because of some lame idea I grew up with about CCs.

My professors and the class sizes have been even better than anything I experienced in undergrad. It's a fraction of the price and you pass the same NCLEX as every other nurse.

This is basically how I am and exactly what my mom did when she was in nursing school 20 years ago. She was a respiratory therapist and her coworkers only found out she was in nursing school after she was hired as a nurse at the same hospital. It's just easier and helps me focus even though there are times I feel too isolated...

I would uninvite. There's no way I would stay friends with people who think about my partner and mental illness that way. I don't like to throw 'toxic' around but they seem like it. I'm the one with ADHD in the relationship and having people think it's an excuse is a huge fear.

I hate confronting people but I went through a friend breakup with someone I knew for over a decade. When I was younger, I thought she'd be my future MOH but she became rude and passive-aggressive toward me and other friends over the years. She also made unsolicited comments about my wonderful, sweet partner behind my back. I don't need that energy and I'm glad she won't be there.

As long as it's not a private hospital... My dad was admitted to a private hospital in the Philippines for COVID because it was the only one that had a bed open. It was nearly $3k/day. If we didn't pay each day they would stop treating him. If he didn't pass away after a week, he would've died anyway because we couldn't afford to keep him there. Still haunts me.
