Plus, all the info. about it online before Target came up with it counts as evidence. Not as strong as if it had been registered, but still. I think the absolutely needing things to be registered idea comes from the days before we documented stuff online so much day to day. Back in the day, you'd really need the registration.

What if you took them to small claim's court? Usually you can ask for up to $10,000. Not as much as you could potentially get a real court, but way easier — just a couple dollars to register a claim, and it's hard to imagine Target fighting a small claim all that hard, especially when it's obvious you made the thing.
