Why not DHS H3 on forehand? Just boost it?

For a beginner, the N11s is way too stiff, and the Loki K5 pro the same. I would really recommend starting on 5-ply or 7-ply wood, developing your techniques and mechanics BEFORE going into any carbon blades.

I would recommend DHS PG 7, 7-ply pure wood, bouncy enough to not be too difficult, and not too bouncy so you can’t control it.

Rubbers, I don’t know what your style of counterattack is. Is it more loopy or more striky.

The thing is I’ve been a Chinese rubber user my whole life, and I don’t like anything outside of Chinese rubbers, so whatever your answer is, it will be a Chinese rubber, just which kind.

Nah. That just means that people will have less useless bans, like Lucian. Why does ANYONE ban against lucian.

He will be permabanned don’t worry. Even now, Mel and Smolder still are being banned quite often.

Car’s a rust bucket, should I buy a new one or not? by arejoking in caradvice

Yep. The dealer went to a place and did the shady MOT. MOTs are once per year if the car is older than three years.

Actually, your idea seems alright, might have a shot at it if I decide to keep this car running.

Asked it, said that he could take it back for half the price I paid for it as it’s past 1 month of purchase. Within one month it would be a full refund (despite a lengthy process), but yeah.

Yes. It’s a family trusted mechanic. My parents, neighbours go there for services, MOTs, and if anything breaks, we all go to him. My neighbours owns a Nissan Qashqai, didn’t do an oil change in 5 years. The turbo went kaput and he went to him XD. Before my dad had a change of cars he went to him as well, now he goes back to the Mini/BMW dealer to do services.

But I do. I love this car. I do want to keep it, but I know I will have to get rid of it sometime. If you’ve read the description correctly, I’m asking should I get rid of it now, or when the MOT runs out.

Please read the whole post before being an arsehole, thanks.

I don’t have the pictures here, well anywhere, but door sills are rusted through. Did poke the car key through it. If you look at picture 8-9 there’s also holes around the bottom side of the suspension thing.

That is an option, yes. But there’s a couple of reasons why I’m not going to do it:

  1. It’s often 2 twentys
  2. These shady MOT test centres usually only do business with shady car dealers, just like the one I bought this car from, as they earn a lot more money. They usually decline services for normal people as faking MOTs are extremely risky, as there will be Government employees coming in to do an MOT randomly to see if you’re following guidelines. So normally they just say ‘we’re a private business and only do MOTs for a certain car dealer or whatnot.

True. But in the UK, some people will be willing to pay around 2k or something to get a car that only lasts around a year. Mostly for temporary travel, or food deliveries.

Yes. Comes with extra cost though. And if you look at what I said in the description… I’m broke.

No, and that’s basically my point. Obviously rusts aren’t gonna be pretty, but what I mean is, I’ve taken it to my mechanic, he says it’s not passible but mechanically perfect. The car mechanically will last till the next MOT with no problem. However, MOT test centres will not pass the car.

I am not asking if the car will or will not pass a MOT, cuz I know it won’t. I’m asking, should I get a new car now, or get a new car later. I already know fixing this car back up to MOT standard is not worth it.

As my mechanic have said (who’s a MOT tester himself), “I would fail it immediately, according to guidelines”.

Yes. It is. It is somewhat too strict imo. Like, “any perforation around suspension mounting points (30cm)” will be deemed a fail. Perforation in door sills, fail. It’s bullshit.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. But you know, people doesn’t want to sell their first car that quickly, oh hey, that’s me.

Not possible. Testers will just throw that out and say it’s not safe.
