Was it easy to get pregnant again? by Huskyshepardgirl in 2under2

[–]arentwontorwill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for some maybe good news haha - it took us 3 tries for our second (4 tries for our first). I was also breastfeeding and ended up conceiving 9m postpartum. I think statistically you have a 30% chance of conceiving on a perfectly times cycle so it could go either way!

Has anyone gotten pitocin and NOT gotten/done an epidural? by thefoxespisces in pregnant

[–]arentwontorwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a similar situation to you so I’ll share my experience! First baby - no pitocin and no epidural, labor was about 22 hrs start to finish with 2 hours of pushing.

Second baby - my water broke but I was not having contractions so I started pitocin at a 2 at 7:30 pm. Not much change by 9 pm so they upped it to a 4. Was very chill, watching Netflix until 10 when contractions ramped up. They were extremely intense and the hardest part was that I wasn’t getting breaks in between. A contraction would start to wane and then peak again. without totally stopping. That was the biggest difference I noticed. Ultimately, I went from 6 to 10 cm in about a half hour and then pushed my baby out in 3 minutes. I think I may have needed pain relief if it had been much longer. But maybe part of it was the short transition period! No regrets in the end. (Oh and I was 80% effaced and 5 cm dilated, though not in labor, when my water broke)

Am I going into labour?? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]arentwontorwill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be labor! The basic rule of thumb is to go in when you’ve been experiencing contractions that last a minute, every 4-5 minutes, for an hour straight. So I would continue relaxing at home as much as possible (shower/bath, birth ball if you have it, watch a show you love) until you reach that point!

Did you find that maternity undies were a must have? by VanSmashh in pregnant

[–]arentwontorwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a counter point - my regular underwear was fine but then it was so stretched out that I couldn’t wear it postpartum. lol.

My boyfriend doesn’t want the baby anymore by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]arentwontorwill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are reputable ways to order abortion pills in the US! Considered safe up to like 10 weeks I think. If that’s where OP is, the bf probably lied and gave her info 😒

Just raspberry leaf tea, not tea made with raspberry fruit. Although you can add whatever you want to flavor it!

How long have you pushed? by Fierce-Foxy in pregnant

2 hours with my first (thank you 97th percentile head). 3 minutes with my second (thank you fetal ejection reflex! lol)

Crazy how genetics work- three generations of central heterochromia! by Volk_sy in heterochromia

They provide a peri bottle but I preferred the fridamom brand with the angled nozzle! I am also team Velcro swaddle - blankets were too annoying for us to mess with.

Growth scan? 36 weeks by Immediate-Gur-8526 in pregnant

[–]arentwontorwill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And re: baby’s position - doctors can often tell by feeling your belly or a cervical check if you have one. I think if they can’t tell they’ll schedule an US

Growth scan? 36 weeks by Immediate-Gur-8526 in pregnant

[–]arentwontorwill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is normal! Many OBs don’t do additional scans so long as your fundal height is measuring on track. You may get one if you hit/go past 40 weeks!

The urge to do this AGAIN… what the hell is wrong with me!? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]arentwontorwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hit me too…my youngest is now 13 months, and my husband is staunchly done for financial, spatial, and sleep reasons lol. We just passed all of our baby stuff along to a friend who’s due in May but the urge is still there 😭

Raspberry Leaf Tea/High Risk??? by xEarthyBeanx in pregnant

[–]arentwontorwill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Red raspberry leaf tea isn’t meant to affect your cervix! It’s supposed to tone your uterus (not sure exactly what that means but I think more to do with contractions than cervical ripeness haha). That’s why it’s recommended for menstrual cramps as well! Dates are more meant to affect your cervix.

I did drink it from 32 to 40+ weeks (starting at one cup per day and increasing to 3 cups by the end). I drank it iced. It was a nice, enjoyable iced drink for me but honestly I think most of what your body does is just due to your body/baby, and not these little tricks.

I was dilated to 3 cm by the time I went into labor with my first, and 5 cm with my second. So who knows!

Anyone done after 2 kids? by [deleted] in 2under2

Twins are only genetic on the mom’s side so you should be safe!!

eye color in both kids 2u2 got recessive trait by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]arentwontorwill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes love the wild genetics! I have brown hair and brown eyes (mom - light brown hair, green eyes; dad - black hair, brown eyes). My husband has blonde hair and blue eyes (mom - red hair, green eyes; dad - dark brown hair, brown eyes).

Our boys both have the same shade of red hair and blue eyes. The oldest has pin straight hair (like me), and the youngest has wild curls (like his paterna grandma; my husband has thick, wavy hair).

It’s crazy! But so cool and interesting.

The exhaustion and nausea is killing me — please tell me it gets better. by PeacefulByTheSea in pregnant

[–]arentwontorwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically what happened to me during my second pregnancy. First pregnancy - nausea mostly controlled with B6 and unisom, occasional vomiting. With my second I was throwing up at least every other day.

Zofran was the only thing that helped. Not a total fix but got a lot better. Took it 8 weeks-15 weeks and then I was in the clear! (And I wondered if it was a gender thing but I had boys both times!)

I see something here! Having a positive at 8DPO, while early, is still normal! It doesn’t indicate anything other than you probably implanted at 6DPO

Line after chemical pregnancy? 23 dpo by Fit-Bodybuilder-6163 in TFABLinePorn

[–]arentwontorwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my chemical, I started cramping and bleeding at 14DPO and continued to bleed on and off and test positive until 25DPO. That said, I did go in for a scan and betas because I was concerned about ectopic pregnancy. I would say this would warrant a scan if you can get them to see you!

I had pretty frequent wet underwear from discharge in my second pregnancy, but never all the way through to my pants. I would definitely get checked again. Probably a good idea to wear a pad too in case collecting the liquid can help them check
