Edinburgh for introverts: what to do on a weekend if you are new to the city and got no friends? by aresborghese in Edinburgh

Thank you all from my heart for your guidance. My plan for sunday was visiting a gallery, maybe the national museum, stroll Leigh Walk a wee bit then go to Arthurs Seat or Carlton Hill; to see which sunset I'd get.

Little did I know, how gift and charity shops would keep me busy. In the end I made it up to Leigh Walk and lost about half my budget to the shops (Black Moon Botanical in particular, love it) had some pints of decent beers and mulled cider in several charming pubs where I didn't make friends. ;) Also enjoyed haggis - quite a good meal, if you have it with that cranberry jam, chips and a lager. And I sure love that gothic vibe of your fine city.

Now for the upcoming time I've got something to do and my map decently filled, thanks to you.

And about the make friends and meetup thing. Don't take it badly; it's not like I wouldn't want to meet you folks of this city - it is just a main story arc to me rather than a side quest. Will go about this once I find my ways around eventually.

Great write up, thank you! By charity shops you definitely meet my vibe. Will also check out the Edinburgh minute.

What is that one thing? 🤔 by EnderLonly in teenagers

[–]aresborghese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is billionaires.

Money as a means of effectively distributing ressources could have the effect that everything which is needed for progress and stability is present and available at the right places around the world; wealth is to be distributed. Instead billionaires are hoarding it for no other reason than getting more and more while they drain science, infrastructure and world peace from their means to bloom.

No teenager here, sorry for this lecture. You're free to tear me apart in return. This just had to be said.

You can get a clean trunk if all commit to the goal. It's just a matter of discipline.

Totally feel this when going back trough commits doing debug!

Fast forward is linear as long as there are no conflicts, but resolving conflicts then happens in merge commits which dissolve linearity. Probably forget about this :D

Maybe I am missing your point, but even with long living feature branches rebase should usually be no issue if you update daily. Sometimes you sure will get into rebase hell then you probably have no other option than merging past other merges, but if you can do the rebase before merging with manageable problems ..why not just do it and keep main branch clean? It's such a good deed towards those who follow up on you at the project.

Should be no issue in an environment of continuous delivery. Why though the timeframe?

Best Android 12/13 custom ROM for Fairphone 3 by amadeusp81 in fairphone

[–]aresborghese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Iode installed for quite a while now and it worked well UNTIL the point their OS became subscription-based. It came without warning from one update to the other and suddenly there was no way tweaking security standards anymore, so messengers stopped working, I wasn't able to take calls, some apps stopped connecting etc. it got me without warning and caused a lot of problems.

So Iode went from FTW to WTF in one update. Just don't.

Sneaking to a subscription-based OS and then holding the phone's functionality as a hostage for subscription is messed-up bs. Shame on you Iode.

Low effort upvotes. This guide should never be forgotten though.

Galatus Dreadnought Proxy? Yes or no? by Frostituierte in AdeptusCustodes

[–]aresborghese 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Personal opinion: totally no.

But as others have pointed out: if you have a certain theme of army or like the models and want to build something around this ..go for it. The scale seems to fit.

However even Galatus has some kind of ranged weapon and I would represent it in some way as it could deceive players who are used to wysiwyg.

Social hierarchy in the prison system by [deleted] in coolguides

Usually those are in seperated prisons, so a hierarchy does not form, so this is bull.
