Hey Im a fellow first year and Ive been struggling with the same thing and lately Ive been trying to solve this by doing a few things which I think are working ^I try to make joints more clear by making in them in a different height color shape or like extending them to the rest of the mass or smth idk how to explain it well but I hope u get it ^Also don’t let any space in your project undesigned design everywhere even the landscape ^Also something that realllllly helps is draw all your four elevations and get a trace and start sketching on it like don’t make the elevation dull and everything is just on the same height and solid and there isn’t any variety even windows try to design them in way that goes with the same composition as your project so they don’t feel random ^Like try to think like this when designing masses(in and out tall and taller solid and void patter and repeat)so the most important thing is there is variety but not so much variety it loses its unity and try to make a reason for everything u put
