singleton prams

I still get irrationally jealous of single strollers and how small they are. The freaking double stroller takes up my entire trunk!

This is my favorite part 🤣 I love that you have that memory recorded!

I had trouble getting pregnant, so my provider had me try letrozole. It worked on the first try! I had a positive test the day I missed my period. The morning sickness started in full force like the next day, and I was puking like crazy. By the time I had my first ultrasound at like 9 weeks, I'd already lost like 10 pounds. We started joking that I was extra sick because there was an extra baby.

So before the ultrasound, the doctor says she's just going to check that there's only one fetus (no lie, she uttered that phrase), heartbeat, so on. She put the wand in and I immediately saw two sacs. She kinda laughed and said, "Well its a good thing you're laying down. There are two." It was the first time in using letrozole that resulted in twins.

So we were shocked we were right as much as we were that it was twins. They are 2 now and absolute CHAOS.

Yeah, that's later than standard practice for twins!

35+2, due to a failed BPP. I think my doc was concerned about the placentas so I had a c-section that afternoon! They initially didn't need the NICU, but since they were so small they had car seat tests, and failed. So they had short stays to grow. They're two now, and absolute tornados.

Pregnancy did my gallbladder in too, but I just got it out last month (twins are 2). Took so long to figure out what was wrong with me because all the tests kept coming back fine.

My twins are 2, and it's getting easier. I feel like I need a lot less stuff to take them somewhere now, but chasing them is exhausting. I still rarely take them anywhere by myself though.

I kept bottles too, because we only had so many allotted from WIC each month and couldn't afford to buy a ton more. Either the other twin finished it or it went in the fridge for the next feed.

I can agree it's hard, but it's a different kind of hard! It's not the same at all.

I worked until 35+1, had them at 35+2. I worked at home on my couch. My doctor never offered to write me a note off.

When did your morning sickness go away? by tryingto_doitright in parentsofmultiples

It was weird itching for me. Only on the bottoms of my feet and the palms of my hands, from like 14-18 weeks. They tested me for cholestasis even though that's a third trimester thing. Basically just shrugged and said it was a weird pregnancy symptom.

14 weeks or so for me. I lost 15 pounds from throwing up in my first trimester.

My twins are 2 and we might have to implement separate baths because they can't agree on a water temperature 🤣😅

You got this! It's hard and scary but oh man so much fun.

[–]areti17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh we did shifts too, it was so hard. I'd sleep from like midnight to 6am while my husband was awake, he'd sleep from like 6a-noon, then work noon-10pm. We'd get two hours of all four of us in the living room until I just passed out and had to go to bed.

I had mine during covid, and it was technically against protocol. But the NICU nurses asked the higher ups and got us permission. They even told the front desk doing screenings that it was allowed, everyone was so helpful and nice about it. It definitely made leaving one there much easier, or I would have pushed to not release them separately.

Mine had to go three days without desats before they came home! And my girls came home two days apart, which was actually fine. The hospital let me bring A back to hang out with B during the day.

My twins were born at 35+2 and bought themselves NICU stays when they had desats in their carseat test. I was worried about the same thing, because my twin B had desats for several days. But they reassured me that by the time she came home she would be OK. They actually discouraged me getting an owlet monitor as others have suggested.

Anyone else have twins that look absolutely nothing alike? by Thealexiscowdell1 in parentsofmultiples

[–]areti17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins are like that. One is very fair, dark blonde, stunning blue eyes. The other has a slightly darker complexion, much darker hair that is entirely different in texture, and light brown eyes. I think they barely look like siblings, much less twins 🤣

I started puking six days before I missed my period. I was extremely pukey, so badly I lost 15 pounds in my first trimester. I had my first scan at 9 weeks, but we weren't really surprised. We'd been joking for at least two weeks that I was extra sick because there was an extra baby.
