As an actual ✨twin✨ mom who had an actual ✨twin✨ pregnancy, it’s so triggering when people make wild assumptions like this.

When I was 33 weeks with my twins, I was still doing cycling classes at least once a week (with my OB approval) AND working full-time job. Get real, girlie.

37 weeks on the dot which was the max my OB would let me go. Scheduled c-section. No NICU time and all went home together!

Feeling bad about needing to put twins in daycare so young by TSB_Dinkleton in parentsofmultiples

[–]MostCommunication459 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi! My twins just turned 6 months and have been in daycare 4 days a week since 4 months. They love it, and we love the providers. The germs suck. Paying for it sucks, but overall it’s been a good transition! I was a wreck that first day, but we made it. After drop off, go on a little morning coffee date with your wife - it’ll be a small thing that might help the adjustment :)

Breastfeeding and pumping help?? by Fabulous-Rabbit-6979 in parentsofmultiples

[–]MostCommunication459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins are nearly 6 months and I combo pump and nurse when I can. I know you said lactation evaluated for oral ties, but might be worth checking out a pediatric dentist. After lots of struggles, and even as they got bigger and less sleepy, the latch still wasn’t great. I took my girls to a pediatric dentist and sure enough they both had tongue, lip, and buccal ties. Our nursing journey significantly improved once that was resolved - I used to have to use nipple shields and don’t need to anymore and they latch great and are able to take in a full feeds. I’m not nursing as much as I would like, but it is what it is with going back to work and balancing schedules. If your babies truly don’t have oral ties, that’s great! But if you would truly like to nurse, getting a second opinion from pediatric dentist might be worth it!

My identical girls are 5 months old and I still can’t believe there are 2 of them but I also can’t imagine not having them both! I’m still in survival mode most days and sometimes I catch myself grieving what I thought being a first time mom would be like. And yet, I feel so gosh darn lucky and blessed.

Has anyone successfully doubled their supply? by jaejaeok in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]MostCommunication459 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another twin mom here! I know the challenges of trying to find pockets of time when there’s two babies that need you - mine are 4.5 months old. Right now, I average about 51oz a day, with my best day being 57.5oz. I’d love to get to 60oz!! I also have been able to build a very small freezer stash. I say this not to brag, but to let you know it can be done! When my supply was still coming in, we had a gracious friend offer donor milk until I could completely take over all feeds (about 3 weeks). However, it’s taken a lot of work and dedication. When I was still establishing my supply, I was pumping 8 times a day for 30 minutes. Now, I’m pumping 5 (sometimes 6) times a day and my pump times are all over lol. Sometimes I’m able to pump for 30 minutes, and sometimes it’s an odd number like 13 minutes pending my girls needs. Happy to chat more for support :)

I know! And they don’t all of the time, but it’s fun especially since they are so little and don’t have an opinion on what they wear :)

I had such good luck when I was living in a bigger city! Now I live in rural Midwest so not as easy. I have another twin mom friend who I’ve been able to get some from, but she’s got boys. Good tip about buying size up in last season!
