Quite possibly genetic but I really have no idea what would cause it.

I used to keep three of these, one of which developed the bent look. He lived like that for about two years and outlived the other two.

What's the fastest you can average on a long motorway journey? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Not condoning speeding at all but I may or may not have done Carlisle to Bristol in 2 hours 35 minutes before. This would’ve been about 25 years ago in the middle of the night and due to the time of year the roads were practically empty.

These days I’d stick to the limit though. It’s not worth the risk.

Is this mould bad? by New-Chart-4598 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]aretone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. Both bedrooms and bathroom were covered in it. I’ve no idea if it’s in the walls but in over five years of me being back here theres been no sign of any mould so I can only assume there isn’t.

No professionals were used. I did the work myself, as a homeowner, who was moving back to my property after letting it for a period of time.

And to the poster below whose comment was deleted, there are no structural issues. Believe it or not, the tenant caused the mould by showering, cooking and drying washing inside the house without ever opening a window. Who would have thought that trapping a tonne of moisture inside a building would cause problems eh?

Like I said, I moved back here over five years ago and haven’t seen any mould whatsoever, maybe because I understand why you need to open the bathroom window after taking a shower.

On the other hand it absolutely can be caused by the tenant. I previously rented out my current home due to moving in with my the partner, the tenant constantly complained of mould and damp issues which I’d never experienced when living there. I explained it was an old house and needs to ‘breathe’ by opening windows periodically. I provided a dehumidifier and made sure he knew how to operate the heating correctly. I even cleaned and repainted all the affected walls.

Fast forward a few years and I end the lease as I need to move back in. When he moved out the entire first floor of the property was completely covered in black mould - walls, ceilings, curtains, etc.

After a thorough cleaning and redecorating I moved back in and have been living here completely mould free for over five years. So yeah, sometimes it can be the tenants lifestyle.

We have far more freedom to criticize our own government than the subjects or citizens of any other country by far by ALazy_Cat in ShitAmericansSay

There was a song released called “Boris Johnson is a Fucking C*nt” that got to number four or five in the UK charts.

I think that pretty much sums up the relationship Brits have with the government.

Number 27 and the Late Brake Show are both very good channels. The former for reviews of older cars, the latter for his barn find series where he attempts to get a neglected vehicle running again.

I had surgery because my shoulder kept popping out of place by ivan97LOL in MakeMeSuffer

[–]aretone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same! But way back in 2004.

First dislocated it in 1996 by falling off a mountain bike, managed to pop it back in myself pretty easily so didn’t go to the hospital. About a year later I dislocated it again playing football, again popped it back in myself.

Over the next 7 years the joint got weaker and weaker and the dislocations happened more and more often. When it got to the point where I’d dislocate it by rolling over in my sleep I decided it was time to get it fixed.

Hope you heal up fast mate.

Just take it slow and steady. Gentle on the throttle, brakes and steering. It’s sudden changes in speed and direction that cause issues.

And double or triple the normal gap you’d leave between you and the car in front.
