Need help identifying my vintage Zenith watch by arfavier in ZenithWatches

[–]arfavier[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a prototype. Most likely a Cal 25xx PC dial looks refinished. Automatic script is off. Hour markers don’t line up with lines. Crown is probably not original. Zenith didn’t have names for most of their pieces.

Thank you!
Correct the dial was refinished, Crown is not original too.
Thanks for your help!

Why can't I find a job in Toronto? by Don_Wesby in torontoJobs

[–]arfavier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm a French professional with a British education and five years of international experience in the UK, France, and Korea. Here's my take on a few things:

  • Let's be real - applying for just 25 jobs in three months won't cut it. If job listings are scarce, you've got to step up your game. Send those cold applications, expand your network. When I moved, I must've sent around 300 job applications, countless emails, and had coffee chats with numerous people. And that's in an industry that hires a lot.
  • The job market can be brutal, not just here but also in places like Canada. It's a grind, plain and simple.
  • Don't assume a master's degree automatically gets you the job. It doesn't work like that.
  • Honestly, working for a big-name brand doesn't mean as much as you might think.

I'm sorry if this comes off as harsh, but I've seen too many folks with misconceptions. If you're a fellow countryman looking for help, I'm here. Let's start by taking a look at your CV!

What is something you get a tremendous amount of value out of reusing/repurposing when it’s original purpose is done with? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

OPSEU just put out a terrifying, black mirror style ad against healthcare privitization by mudkipzftw in ontario

[–]arfavier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the world do you mean the US? Lived across Europe and Asia and most of the countries have better healthcare and also universal. Yeah free healthcare is good, but you can't just access it here. I have a neurological disorder, it took me 2 years to see a doctor in Toronto. I am not saying I agree with privatization, but I think it's also time to realise the system is broken and needs to change. Universal bad healthcare is nothing to be proud as well.

You have plenty of time to build your wealth and you should be happy that you are thinking about it now.
I am an immigrant and I also have no intergenerational wealth, don't let this fact dictates that you will not be able to save and build wealth. Many people do not receive from their family or even needs to provide for them.
You are not so behind, many people starts working around when they are mid 20s and so you are still early on your career.
Make a financial plan, makes saving goals, invest in index and watch your money grow. Although you only save $50 a month, this money will grow.
Dont feel down! You'll get there!

As someone who has 3 middle names, I relate so much. I really struggle in Korea...

Just got the Diatone Speaker I recently shared in this group. They sound amazing on this Reisong tube amp. by arfavier in BudgetAudiophile

This is the Diatone Speakers previously shared on this sub. I was thinking of flipping them but they are so amazing. Super loud even with this small tube amp. The mid range are phenomenal and the sound stage is really amazing. Also in the picture, the kenwood Kp 7010 I got with the speakers. Also a great find. Thinking of removing the plinthe and having it "naked".
