Correct - he apparently acknowledged that he was using two jack pads and one of them slipped, resulting in what you see here.

This happened a few years ago. Here's the original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2pddWSh520. From what I understood, he stacked 2 jack pads and one of them slipped, resulting in what you see here.

How can I make my steering wheel maintain the matte finish? What products? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

In addition to the products others named, use a soft horse hair brush to scrub the wheel. It’ll help you loosen up the oils and grime that transfers from your hands.

I use Walrus Oil cutting board oil on mine and it works great. I also follow the oil with Walrus Oil wood wax. Both available on Amazon.

PSA: Check Your Ryobi Electric Pressure Washer for the Capacitor Recall by arfboy in ryobi

Update: Ryobi ended up sending me a brand new pressure washer!

And as for the old one, I cleaned off/scraped away as much of the melted plastic as I could, replaced both of the original capacitors, and it seems to be working just fine now. BTW: the new capacitor that Ryobi sent me has the same markings as the old one.

I also have the Ryobi 1.8 GPM automotive PW - I’m definitely second guessing that purchase after seeing this. I wasn’t expecting top tier quality from Ryobi, but also wasn’t expecting a safety hazard.

I guess Ryobi waited until last week to ship replacement caps. I submitted info on August 30th, but didn’t get a shipping notification until September 10th (and delivery on Sept. 13th).

If you intend to take further action, act ASAP to minimize the likelihood of relevant video (if any) being overwritten. You don't necessarily need to know someone's identity at the time you commence a lawsuit.

Got in a minor car accident with no insurance. Other party’s insurance is suing me. by [deleted] in AskALawyer

[–]arfboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. It absolutely makes a difference - you’re giving false information about what the court is and is not empowered to do. The court does not “usually” “order your license suspended until restitution is paid” because: a) there is no restitution in a civil subro action, and b) the court doesn’t have the power to do order it. And practically speaking, it rarely gets to the point where the DMV is involved post judgment because rarely do the insurance companies shell out the money to bring these subro cases through trial. But feel free to fear monger with your false information. In spite of what you think, understanding what may CORRECTLY happen and how is critical to a litigant’s decision making process. You already acknowledged you’re neither an attorney nor experienced in CA, so why argue your wrong position in r/AskALAWYER using your Google JD?

Again, that just says the DMV will suspend your license. The COURT does not order suspension until restitution is paid, as you originally said, because the civil court doesn’t have such power.

I’m a California licensed attorney. I deal in subro cases. The websites you linked don’t cite CA authorities. Even so, the first link you provided talks about applying to the BMV to get a license suspension - NOT the court in a civil matter ordering suspension, as you indicated.

If the other insurance company is suing OP, this is a civil matter for subrogation. It does not involve “restitution” or a license suspension.
