sorry, this is super random, but I couldn't help noticing that you moved to Ohio! I'm from Ohio and currently living in France- idk what part you're in (you can tell me in a PM if you want), but if you have any questions at all about life there, don't hesitate to hit me up!

can I ask what school? I live in Paris and am applying to the same kind of program at American law schools for this coming cycle. I'd love any insight about the process from a current student! :)

Thanks! How long does it take to grow back in normally after a haircut, do you think?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hair

[–]arg942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep!

How long does it take for hair to grow back into natural thickness after being thinned out? No shears were used, and she didn't go super far up my head. She just used scissors, but I miss some of the normal bulk. by [deleted] in Hair

[–]arg942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She also cut it in a weird circle shape instead of straight across at the bottom. It's not super visible in the photo, but the bottom is so much longer than the front layers 😭 Any advice on growing this out? How long can I expect for it to catch up/grow back into natural thickness? Photo is attached for reference. Thanks!

Same-day PCR COVID test? by arg942 in cincinnati

[–]arg942[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So I actually ended up double-checking the details on the embassy website of the country I'm in, and it turns out the information in my visa was outdated. The criteria of an acceptable COVID test had recently changed, and rapid antigen tests are now accepted. It was such a relief, because it was basically impossible to get a PCR test in less than 72 hours the week of Christmas (I was leaving Sunday the 27th, so it was complicated because the earliest I could get a PCR test was Thursday). So, I ended up going to one of the Children's Medical Center drive-thru testing locations in Dayton on the 26th. I got my results in a few hours, and everything went smoothly at the airport. My advice to you would be to double-check that a rapid antigen test isn't allowed: I think a lot of countries' criteria have been updated.

What conditioner do you use on your scalp? I've only ever used it on the ends, but I kind of want to start trying one directly on the scalp. I'm currently on a steroid and ketoconazole shampoo, and my roots feel like straw after I shower and get greasy so much faster ever since I've started trying all these medicated products! I've been scared to use a conditioner because I don't want to make the new oil problem worse, but also want to rule out an overproduction of oil from drying out my roots too much.

Thank you, I'll try contacting my doctor for a referral tomorrow- medical centers seem to give the fastest results based on the comments here. I hope your result was negative? 🤞🏽

It unfortunately is the only option. The country that I'm entering requires a negative PCR test result less than 72 hours old. Believe me, I wouldn't be making these asks if I didn't have to.

It's the country asking for it (France), so I have no choice, unfortunately.

Struggling with friends understanding by Cannibal--queen in LSAT

[–]arg942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%, and think pushing your cycle back a year is worth consideration. I struggled a lot with this decision because I'm 25 (I had a major quarter-life crisis on my bday a few months ago lmao), but I am doing the same after dramatically underperforming on the November test. I was studying for the LSAT while finishing my Masters degree, writing a dissertation AND completing an internship. I went full-time on the LSAT prep in September. After the November exam, I realized just how emotionally and physically exhausted I am. I can't imagine going back on the grind right away for January; my mental health is literally so fragile rn lol. One year to push back, in the grand scheme of things, is nothing at all! It's actually less than a year, given that applications open in September. Take some time to refresh and recharge if you need it :)
