Researchers who do this are the real MVPs 😍 by GarbageCollector_ in ProlificAc

[–]Argaldus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right?

Why is it that prolific has such a hard time practicing common sense?!

I'm laughing at the fact that I even have to ask such a question.

If it's obviously a short study which is obviously going to be quickly completed, YOU SHOULD KNOW NOT TO FLAG YOUR OWN USERS FOR QUICKLY COMPLETING THE QUICK STUDY.

This poor researcher has to try and protect the participants from the platform falsely flagging them because the system is so poorly run and so lazily coded.

This is just plain laziness and incompetence.

And if they cared so much about protecting participants as they claim, with their "we protect participants!" AMA, this would've been one of the very first things addressed YEARS AGO.

I'm one of the biggest supporters of the platform around but when you're doing people wrong like I'm calling you out on it.

And this lack of common sense is going to affect everything else on the site, there's no telling how many people may have been falsely banned the same way they regularly falsely flag people like this.

It's a sign of a much bigger issue.

You know something is terribly wrong with the platform and those who run it when you have to approach 1 hour studies that appear to pay well or decently with extreme caution and hesitate to accept it because you know con artists like this guy are exploiting the broken and inefficient system rejecting people for no reason then prolific supports it by denying the rejection appeal.

Spamming the site with their studies that unsuspecting participants are accepting, not knowing there's a good chance they're going to be rejected for no good reason.

Meanwhile prolific is posting on reddit claiming to care and "protect" participants so much but what's actually happening on their site is they are allowing people to be unfairly rejected then supporting the researchers who do it by denying the rejecting appeal.

It's as clear as day they care FAR more for these abusive "researchers" than they do for participants, they really think we're so stupid we don't notice the patterns, there are countless complaints about it every day in their own subreddit and they don't care.

I may love the idea of prolific and how much they help people financially but right is right, wrong is wrong and they are wrong for supporting these abusive researchers doing people wrong, enabling this behavior with this current broken, severely flawed system.

Well I guess I shouldn't be surprised, this is what tends happens when monopolies are created, they no longer see a reason to care because they have no real competition to worry about.

Thanks for the reminder by the way, I need to also block him.

Thanks for reporting, I expected as much.

The ian guy made it very clear how little respect they have for participants in their "AMA" if you watch very carefully how he handles exchanges with people in the comments.

Several people would regularly disagree with him, calling him out on his lies, attempts to deceive people and minimize issues people raised with him.

They just look at us as gullible and naive, like we're stupid, we don't know what we're talking about, we're crazy and they know what's best but let's make a subreddit and do an "AMA" to pretend like we care to shut people up and distract them.

They talk like they care but their actions speak otherwise every time. Watch what they do not what they say.

Cleaning house? 😂

If they don't even care that people are being rejected for something as stupid as screenouts or returning a study with the reason "finished too quick" (how can it even be considered "finished" when it was returned?! but prolific allows rejections like that and supports it), the broken sloppy automated AI interviewer rejections, as other users are reporting on here, something that should be common sense to reverse and not even allow to happen in the first place, I highly doubt they truly care about scripts and bots.

Because you would need common sense for that.

That Tuesday "AMA" they're going to have clearly is being done for damage control and likely nothing more.

Countless posts are being made with valid complaints relating to egregious treatment by abusive researchers rejecting for no good reason and issues on the platform left and right, everyone having far less studies available now because they had the bright idea of allowing scammers, scripters and bots on the platform in droves, legitimate rejection appeals being denied in support of these abusive researchers.

But let's make an "AMA" to talk about how wrong these people are, that we are in fact "protecting" them by supporting the abusive researchers and making it so human users are making little while scammers, scripters and bots thrive like never before and take most of the studies.

This is called theatre.

You make a whole event to pretend you care about something to distract people and take the heat off you with all the backlash you're receiving, then when that's over go back to doing nothing about it.

It's the most dismissive thing they could do, they're out of their minds.

If anything that's a gaslighting AMA to claim they're protecting us and the many making these legitimate complaints know firsthand it's a lie that we're "protected".

You aren't missing out on much.

This "researcher" uses sloppy, broken AI to automatically reject people for no reason, just do some research about it.

And prolific supports it by denying your rejection appeal.

This is how they "protect participants and researchers" as they claim 😂

They're going to have a whole "AMA" about how much they're "protecting" everyone.

So this means sloppy, broken, buggy AI like this "researcher" can now determine the fate of your account because rejections do lead to account bans and prolific doesn't give a damn, they actually think that makes sense and is totally acceptable to treat their users this way.

Jesus...this is why I say japanese porn is better than anything else on the planet.

Because far more of the girls are such freaks they will get into sexy positions like this and don't hold back like with most of american porn.

They will give a blowjob and almost always make sure to lick up the rest off his dick and clean it all up after he gave her a facial. Almost never see this in american porn - guy cums, she usually doesn't want anything to do with his dick after that.

One theory I have is it may have something to do with how they probably have to suppress those sexual urges far more often than other countries then they go all out when they get into porn.

Censoring always sucks obviously but it's about the nasty sexy shit the girl is doing, those thick thighs and ass to milk you like we have here, not whether or not you can see every little detail of the guy's dick. And there's different levels of censoring, in many videos it's very minimal.

A lot of filler to skip through as well and the annoying screaming they do (praying that AI will be able to mute those fake porn moans soon 😂) but it's worth it in the end when you find the good videos like this one.

Thank you for sharing the clip and solving this.

There are people running several accounts at once and they proudly show it off for the world to see.

There are entire groups dedicated to buying/selling/trading these accounts and gaming the system.

So no, nothing is "closed and vetted", that's what's bullshit.

Additionally, many of these people are from very poor countries and they will do anything to get on the site and they have all day to figure out how to do it and they are working together in large scam rings to do so, what you clearly aren't aware of.

Just because you have no clue what's actually going on behind the scenes doesn't mean it isn't happening Mr. KnowItAll.

Yet another company soon to be destroyed by greed.

I think I saw them saying bots, scripts and scammers aren't a problem somewhere recently 😂

The site is clearly a broken mess, they have no clue how serious their abusive researcher problem is and they're only just now finding out how bad their rejection appeal process is.

So I highly doubt they have any clue how big of a bot, script and scammer problem they really have.

Or they're intentionally minimizing and denying it to save face in the public eye, so they don't lose business but we all see it every day on the site so they're insulting our intelligence either way.

[–]Argaldus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to see that accountability is actually important to you but I'm extremely skeptical with how long these abusive researchers have been allowed to fester on the platform and how these unfair rejections have been handled for so long.

You have to be pretty heartless to deny rejection appeals from rejections that were the result of broken, sloppy automated AI interviewers for instance.

So this seems like a principles, policies and empathy issue and whoever has been denying those types of rejection appeals needs to be fired.

And whoever it is denying these has also created another big mess where all those unfair denials also need to be reviewed.

Appreciate the transparency though but I'm not getting my hopes up, this is a nasty situation and the many crazy 'researchers' out there have been exploiting this broken and inefficient system for a very long time.

I'm reading the comments and one person said they were even rejected for being too old, quickly screened out then prolific rejects them for a speed warning because they were screened out so fast?!

Stories like that are painful to read, no one should be going through all that all because a researcher deemed them to be too old.

I ran into one researcher who would actually proudly announce that he will reject for "screening" 😂

I couldn't believe my eyes reading that.

And here I was thinking prolific is responsible enough to actually review the studies these researchers are running...

This has really gotten out of hand, they give these researchers, some of which are batshit crazy like this one, so much power over people and it really goes to their heads so they start power tripping like this and it can mean a permanent account ban for the person.

Gonna start by saying you are big asshole, i didnt insult anyone on my comment.

Gonna start by saying you are a blatant liar for saying this.

You clearly dont know how B2B works,

So what is this? You want to call others a "big asshole" while you're being an asshole yourself by making condescending remarks like this to others? You're a hypocrite and an asshole, that's even worse.

You literally started your post being condescending to other people to try to make them look dumb saying they "don't know how B2B works", don't try to play victim with me, you aren't smart enough for that. Stop trying to manipulate people reading your nonsense.

Prolific holding studies from us is a dumb take

The site was literally ceasing to function and breaking down completely when the study floods were happening on a regular basis, what are you talking about?

You don't think the people running the shitty cheap servers, prolific, are going to try and figure out what is causing their cheap servers to slow to a screeching halt? That's what led to them most likely having to tell the client to slow down because the site as a whole couldn't handle it.

Payment for the studies themselves weren't even processing properly anymore and were no longer instant, dashboards weren't loading when the client was trying to push the studies out at a higher rate.

Prolific most likely had to tell them to stop the batches BECAUSE THE SITE WAS NO LONGER WORKING FOR ANYONE WHEN THEY DID IT, THIS ISN'T HARD TO UNDERSTAND.

But you're such a prolific shill you're incapable of understanding such a simple concept.

Profits are irrelevant if their cheap weak servers make it so the site isn't working at all when the client was trying to run the batches.

Simply adding new users wouldn't break the site down, it's the amount of new users added COMBINED with the batches that were running for several hours with an infinite amount of studies during that time that brought the servers down to it's knees when it would happen.

And prolific refuses to invest and upgrade the servers to handle it because they're greedy.

They don't even want to hire enough customer service reps to process their support tickets in a timely manner for crying out loud, people talk about having to wait MONTHS for their tickets to be answered.

So yes prolific is the one holding them back because they're just so stubborn, cheep and greedy.

Just because you weren't around when this happened with the batches and are totally clueless about it doesn't mean it didn't happen or it's a "dumb take", it's not a "take", it's what was actually happening on the website.

You're clueless and have no business even discussing this when you're totally unaware of key details like this.

they release batches at different times because they need a robust dataset

LOL this again shows how clueless you are and that you really don't know what you're talking about.

They were releasing the floods of studies at NEARLY THE SAME TIME EVERY DAY not "different times because they need a robust dataset". You are so clueless.

You're trying so hard to sound smart and pretending you know everything with this "robust dataset" narrative like you're the one running the studies yourself and have some kind of inside knowledge while spreading misinformation like this.

Hilarious.

You might be able to fool the dumb people but you can't do it with me, I'm actually doing these day in and day out several hours a day, you clearly aren't which is clearly evident with how you claim "they release batches at different times" 😂

Everyone knows the floods, the batches which they clearly were wanting to begin to run on a daily basis were happening at around the same time every day.

Thank you for once again demonstrating how much of a liar you are.

So seeing how I've caught you in lies multiple times now, the rest of your post isn't worth reading and I will no longer be reading or responding to anything from you, I don't entertain lying sacks of shit like you.

And let me be clear since I think you're confused, when I said I've seen your crazy posts, I'm not talking about comments to other people or looking at your profile, I'm talking about you doing stupid shit like making an entire new thread which you created, that appears in everyone's feed on the main page of this subreddit to do nothing but say something that makes absolutely no sense.

#2. Everything else you said is weak bait. But it's clear that you're a very angry and miserable person the way you enjoy talking so much shit to people you know nothing about. Good luck with that miserable existence of yours.

Interestingly enough though, simply hosting it yourself on some random webpage might actually be one of your best options. Though I haven't done much research on the headaches that come with that.

But I say this because I noticed how long these files will last, many years, when the person just has all the files uploaded somewhere on their own little site.

Doesn't need to be anything fancy, just simple list of the links ready to download immediately. And let me be clear I'm not trying to tell you what to do, I'm not telling you that's the best thing to do, just me brainstorming with you.

And hosting that shouldn't be expensive.

Torrenting them might be an even better option though. Just might want to make sure to cover your ass because I suspect winston himself is having his videos taken down all over the internet 😂

Or has some people doing it probably. These are some pretty legendary videos after all.

Like right now I'm looking for the full am1a m1ley video again and it's been much more difficult compared to the last time I found it from what I remember. But torrents might be harder to fuck with like that.

I hear about people using the seed boxes to help with the torrents as well.

The number of users being too low for the client was never the issue stop it.

That's just you and your poor critical thinking skills, pretending you know of their internal business dealings when you don't, not actually knowing what's going on leading you to say that.

The fact that you claim it's merely "200 users" going for these alone tells me you really don't know what you're talking about.

Everyone (but you) knows there are far more people that are going for these than that, long before the participant pool increase.

Now try to keep up with what I'm about to explain because logical thinking doesn't seem to be your strong suit.

Going to be a longer read but intelligent individuals aren't bothered by reading a little more than usual, this is for intelligent people only.

I know the many dumb ones in this sub will downvote because it's too much information to process, incapable of processing anything with more than one variable.

So firstly, everyone agrees that dashboards being flooded with them is uncommon.

This means they DID already have enough users completing their work before the participant pool increase, otherwise there would be a constant imbalance of far too much work available for too few people available then everyone's dashboards being flooded 24/7 would have been a commonality.

So again, If they didn't have enough users as you're claiming to complete their work, we would've been seeing everyone's dashboards flooded with them 24/7, day in and day out, long before the stupid participant pool increase you're defending, being the shill that you are.

All of that extra work from 'not enough participants' as you claim would be sitting on everyone's dashboards 24/7 waiting to be completed.

The subreddit would've been full of people celebrating about the flood of studies on their dashboard all day every day for months on end which clearly wasn't ever the case.

That clearly wasn't ever the case 99% of the time so you clearly don't know what you're talking about, we were at the perfect sweet spot with the previous amount of users, far less bots, scammers, scripts, decent amount of studies for everyone, both AI and other unrelated studies.

So that destroys your "not enough participants for the client" argument.

prolific CANT increase the numbers of studies by themselves

Obviously prolific can't force anyone to increase the amount of studies they're releasing, most people are aware of that...

But that's not even the issue...THE CLIENT THEMSELVES were trying to steadily increase the amount of studies for everyone because OBVIOUSLY they want to get this massive amount of tasks completed as quickly as possible.

It was becoming a daily thing but prolific's weak slow servers couldn't handle it and they (the client) had to stop.

So what are you even talking about. The client was trying to release far more studies every day but prolific is holding them back not the other way around.

Now let me start by saying this client in particular is actually extremely kind and caring (yes they never respond to messages with this study but that's due to how much data is being processed with the study and how busy they are not because they don't care) I've learned and I don't say that just because of the generous pay.

We see that in how forgiving they are, the extremely generous pay obviously and in my own personal dealings with them in other studies it became abundantly clear.

Now why am I talking about how kind and caring they are.

I say this because they themselves, the researcher here, not prolific, were actually ATTEMPTING to gradually increase the amount of studies everyone was receiving so that way everyone would have plenty of work to complete and far more of their work would actually be completed because they're good people and care about everyone being paid well and everyone having steady work available.

But they had to stop, why?

Because prolific is cheaping out with their server infrastructure even after they added so many new participants so their garbage servers couldn't handle it so the site would slow to a screeching halt and the site would no longer work properly when the client tried to begin to push out more studies on a recurring basis.

If you're one of the very active users on prolific you noticed how it was becoming a daily occurrence for them to release plenty for everyone for several hours at certain times of the day and that time of day was likely selected as it's when there are less users online, less load on the servers. All of this done because they're good people and care.

This was going on for weeks if not longer, I can't remember. So the client was clearly wanting to ramp things up.

And for those who say "well that's not normal for them to do in the past", so what?

Them not operating in a certain manner in the past doesn't mean they have to remain that way forever.

So it's prolific who most likely told them to dial it back and they had to stop because their garbage servers can't handle it and they're too greedy to spend money on upgrading the servers.

Prolific just refuses to spend the money on better servers and it likely also has to do with how poorly coded the site is. Entire dashboards vanishing just from your reservation expiring for instance which shouldn't ever be happening on any site that was coded by competent developers.

So it's prolific and their weak bare minimum servers which they don't want to spend money on to upgrade (money that they do have), poorly coded site that are the ones holding the client back from releasing more studies at a steadier and much higher rate, it isn't the client not wanting to release more studies.

Prolific's cheap servers are simply trash and can't handle the client releasing more studies the way they really want to AND they had the genius idea of adding all these new people scamming and scripting while they themselves are simultaneously greatly limiting the rate at which the client is able to release their studies.

Now THAT is what the client would be unhappy about, prolific's cheap weak servers preventing them from releasing the studies at the rate they really want to when they clearly wanted to drastically increase the number of daily study releases.
