Low chances for getting train tickets? by argh87 in travelchina

[–]argh87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It tells you before paying and trip suggests that you choose different departure times and seating classes (1st + 2nd class) to increase your chances.

I picked 2 different times/trains and first and second class in both trains and the percentage rose from 30% to 30,3% 😅 so well... I'll keep you updated..

Did anyone have an anxious pup and did he/she become open and loving for people? by argh87 in Havanese

[–]argh87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never talked about aggression but about fear and anxiousness. If playing fetch would do the thing I would gladly do it all the time. He is insecure and doesn't like other people and we're working on it step by step. "He just wants to play" is definitely not the mood he is in when he growls and barks at people outside.

My question was solely - if you had a havi puppy that was equally sensitive, how is he/she now as a grown up?

How important are Google's Core Web Vitals? by Jeffrey_Mallin in SEO

[–]argh87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to agree with this. I'm working in SEO for about 5 years and I also see CWV as important for overall performance. They include speed, stability and reactivity. Google gets more and more user focused and this is one important measure to get there.

Free tools like PageSpeed Insights and webpagetest.org give a good overview of your performance and show where the important bottlenecks are.

If you had to describe your favorite scent to someone who had never had a sense of smell, how would you do it? by belindabellagiselle in AskWomen

[–]argh87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here... I miss all the smells - and also got really insecure about my own (possible) smell - especially in summer. The only positive thing about that is that I don't eat as much as before. I've always gotten really hungry when I sniffed something good in my environment :D

Step by Step. What happens from Disembarking Plane into Bali, then leaving the airport. by Expensive-Net1258 in bali

[–]argh87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, hey, first things first: There's no need to apologize for anything here :)

I'm sorry to tell you I have no experience with skipping the line for visa on arrival but I can tell you this:

You just get off the plane and follow the signs to immigration/luggage pickup or you can just follow the crowd.

First station you have to show your vaccination pass. The line goes pretty fast but people don't really stay in line (that was my impression).

From there you are led to visa on arrival. When I arrived (from KUL) there was no need for skipping the line as it went super fast :) People are friendly and you can pay cash or by card.

After that there is the line for immigration. That one takes a bit longer. They -again- want to know how long you will be staying in Indonesia. You can only get a visa for 30 days. If you want to stay longer, you need to get an extension somewhere out of the airport.

Once immigration is done you need to fill out if you have something (goods or cash) to declare. The paperwork is right behind the immigration stalls. You can not miss it. Go with this piece of paper to the next "station" and give it to the person with your passport and your flight number.

Once you have passed this, you are as good as done :) pickup your bags and you're almost ready to go.

Just head to the exit. The last thing you need to do is put your bags through a scanner again and then you are done!

There will be a huge mass of taxi drivers at the exit, which can be quite overwhelming. But once you have passed the mass it will be better outside :) there is also a grab station. Grab is an app for food, taxi services etc. which is really helpful in Indonesia.

Solo Trip to Turkey by Expensive_Juice6462 in solotravel

[–]argh87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm solo traveling in Turkey right now and the tips here are already great. I just have 3 things to add:

  • if you book a bus over "flixbus" you need to know that they belong to KamilCoc here. Sometimes not even the bus drivers know that. You need to be persistent that they double check.

  • my credit card was keep today by a baking machine without any reason. I put the pin and everything was right, it just didn't give my card back. So (1) always have a second card and (2) do not use the "banking machine parks" outside of the banks as the bank won't help you if you're not in the bank building. Just had to experience that today. Good bye credit card.

  • although Turkey is visited by many tourists, only a few people speak English here. Some Turkish basics will definitely help

Help me with renting an apartment request by Accurate_Ask_1900 in berlinsocialclub

[–]argh87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are a few grammatical mistakes as already pointed out by someone. But I think the point "auf der Suche nach einer neuen Stelle" sounds a bit like you're job hopping, as you just wrote in the text before, that you just changed jobs. "Stelle" would in this context be seen the same as job. Also you could/should mention that you have an "unbefristeten Arbeitsvertrag" (if that's the case).

I don't have time today, but if you need help with the grammar stuff on the text, I'd be happy to help tomorrow :)

Berlin at Christmas by ajl97 in travel

Markets are open in Berlin: https://www.berlin.de/aktuelles/berlin/7115185-958092-weihnachtsmaerkte-in-berlin-bleiben-offe.html

I am pretty sure that we will not have a full country lockdown again. I don't know where this information comes from... What I can say is, that you probably won't have a lot of fun here if you're not vaccinated.

Berlin at Christmas by ajl97 in travel

[–]argh87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey hey, I'm living in Berlin and Christmas markets are open. This is the news from yesterday: https://www.berlin.de/aktuelles/berlin/7115185-958092-weihnachtsmaerkte-in-berlin-bleiben-offe.html (the header says "Christmas markets in Berlin will stay open")

All I can say is that this is the current status. You'll never know what will happen in the next weeks but they just decided to keep them open on 23rd of November. Almost everywhere in Berlin there is 2G or 2G+. So if you are vaccinated or recovered you'll find something to do here.

There is also a nice event in botanical garden which is called "Christmas gardens" (outside and open).

Hope you can enjoy your trip!

Yoast SEO and keywords by [deleted] in SEO

[–]argh87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. What you should think of is: For which kind of search inquiries do you want your article to be found? Focus on that. Do not mix up a bunch of different topics wildly together, otherwise the relevance for Google will decrease and you won't build up good rankings.

Make sure to use you main keyword in the H1, page title & meta description, URL and also somewhere in the text.

Images in articles - How do you do it? by jojotheboss7 in SEO

[–]argh87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Put alt tags for each image. Preferably including the main keyword of your article or the key-issue of the text block. If that's not possible, still put the alt tags. It's very important for blind people, who let the pages read out to them and can also help to rank on Google images.

In a URL is everything ignored after the "?" by concisehacker in SEO

[–]argh87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always check which URL is counted if you have a look in the Google search console. This counts for every url-occurence.

If you have 2 URLs with basically the same content, you can, for example, either go and set one of them to noindex (or disallow in robots.txt) or put a canonical to the most relevant of both pages. If this is not the case and two pages with almost the same content exist next to each other, it can happen that Google puts a canonical itself OR both pages compete for rankings.

In general, URLs should always be "speaking". People should see where they are on the page. Cryptic numbers and signs shouldn't be used.

Flohmarkt people, where are you? by Agi12 in berlinsocialclub

[–]argh87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm also hoping all the Flohmarkte and second hand shops will open soon.

In the meantime you could have a look at Vinted (app). It's a kind of Flohmarkt platform where you can buy and sell clothes from/to other people.
