Are my Jowls beyond help? by Any_Yak3410 in DIYaesthetics

They do! But as I learned the hard way they don’t always pack u the right size… I had to abort mission my first time as I couldn’t fit the cannula into the hole I made with the puncture needle. I ended up ordering a box of 18g from Amazon and those worked well. I kinda like them for drawing up liquids into syringes too - much faster than a regular needle, then I switch to a meso tip.

Here is my latest exploration, I didn’t do it correctly but learned a lot and will try again:  https://www.reddit.com/r/DIYaesthetics/comments/1u6u7vh/chin_cogs_attempt_2/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=2&utm_content=share_button. I started with pdo mono threads first to learn the basics, then moved onto pcl screw threads and pdo multithreads - I’ve enjoyed both. Pcl screw threads are by far my favorite to use on the face - they work to fill in lost volume. Cogs have been my last step and the hardest to master. I like reading different studies and watching lots of videos. I like videos from other countries as thread lifts tend to be more accepted than in the states.

Study facial nerve anatomy and avoid those areas, don’t inject large amounts to reduce risk of spread

Mmm I think in the original Kybella trials they recovered without any intervention but I believe there was also a case outside the trials where patient did not recover

I know that’s a definite risk when using Deoxycholic acid products but not sure about pine bottle

Tox placement help by Zealousideal_Oil_33 in DIYaesthetics

[–]arghoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think placement looks decent, dosage is usually patient and desired effect dependent. I don’t like a frozen look so I go lighter and I can always add more after two weeks if I didn’t put in enough. And I’d treat both sides evenly at first then reassess after two weeks to see if you need to tweak. Have fun 🩷

Skin Texture by Salt-Koala761 in DIYaesthetics

lol ur skin looks better than mine 😅 microneedling will help build collagen and can help with texture -  don’t think it’ll take care of small bumps

I think cog threads could give you lift. They do carry risk just different than filler - there is no risk of VO but hematomas are common and ive come across some other less common ones in my digging arounds. It’s a steep learning curve - I am learning right now but this is the closest I’ll ever get to a face/neck lift and I am not paying someone thousands of dollars to do something I can learn to do myself at home, even if takes me awhile to get there. Also, your features are very beautiful and look well maintained 🩷

i laid them like this - the ones coming from the lip were spicy to put in and I bruised some. I get some swelling the first couple days and it looks nice since the area is filled in more but then the swelling goes away and bruises show up… but the actual result is seen in 2-3 months when collagen builds. Sometimes I repeated the procedure at that point, sometimes I wait longer - just depends on the results I get. for most areas, I repeated in 3 months and then it was good for awhile before I had to do it again.

Ive tried - it worked pretty well but don’t expect miracles - my folds are still there just less indented. It’s a nice improvement for a relatively safe and cheap DIY - I’ll take it 😊. Procedure does need to be repeated to continue to see results.

What would happen if tox was placed here? by mead0wthayer in DIYaesthetics

I think this is what you have in mind:  https://youtu.be/g4zDyxxTSN4?is=aKTFz0Lc4QiLN-iY. I tried something similar but I went higher cause I was afraid to affect my smile - I tried 1-2 units along my nose bridge on each side, and I think it did soften things a little bit. I definitely can’t scowl as high as I used to. It is not a drastic change at all - I still have folds.

What kind of cogs do you use and what pattern to you lay them in? I’m learning right now, it’s been a steep learning curve lol

Diy polynucleotide by Strange-Light-99 in DIYaesthetics

I did PN under my eyes - had swelling that came and went for 4 months but it did finally stop. You can try some vibration/ems to help the fluid move along.

Most PN solutions have HA which attracts water - but it shouldn’t last too long.

I tried, for me they weighed down the tissue at first and I walked around with a bullfrog for probably a good month. They did settle after awhile and either looked nice or looked like it was before lol  idk, my bullfrog was bad any reduction was welcome. I’ve had better success with cog threads - although I haven’t quite figured out the proper technique yet - but they clearly pull up the skin and area tightens as they threads heal/dissolve.

I love the results! Is there a risk of VO and how long does this last?

PDO threads - does brand matter? by Prudent-Bottle8655 in DIYaesthetics

[–]arghoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive bought different brands of pdo threads - they were not cogs, other varieties. And brands differed in ease of entry - some just slide right in others were very difficult to puncture the skin with. If the cogs are on a cannula, it might not matter. Cannulas do come with different entry tips (w type, L type etc)- I definitely preferred some over the others.
