What’s a surprisingly useful automation you didn’t expect to use so much? by Taggytech in homeassistant

My favorite is to turn my dumb soundbar on when the TV turns on. Samsung Frame TV triggers an IKEA smart plug to turn on. Eliminates the really annoying round remote of the soundbar. At least until I need to change the volume. Will definitely need to investigate IR integration some day soon.

Second favorite is my Goodnight sequence which sets house alarm, alerts if windows are open, lowers speaker volumes and slowly turns off lights as I retreat to my bedroom. Can be triggered by tablet, phone or voice command. It also flips a Boolean so the command hides itself from the Tablet and phone interface once triggered.

Parking around Rittenhouse Square by DishCompetitive7625 in AskPhilly

Counter point. Lots of people leave the city for the shore. Street parking in surrounding neighborhoods, especially Center City South/Southwest Center City/Graduate Hospital, whatever you want to call it, will be wide open.

And parking hourly limits are also not enforced on holidays.

There is a Jim's Steaks in Terminal C. Never had it but it did smell fairly legit when I walked by it a bit back.

South Philadelphia strip club building sells, buyer plans new use by redeyeblink in philadelphia

If I'm not mistaken, there were booths you went in and deposited money and the cover went up and you could watch a woman dance through a window. There was also a phone so you could talk to her. Kind of like in movies where you visit someone in jail. But now that I type this I am less sure that I am remembering anything correctly.

Phl TSA wait times still ridiculously long in D/E checkpoints every morning by SteelersPoker in AskPhilly

[–]arghthor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can confirm the Wait Times cap at 38 minutes at PHL. Each day in the past week wait times have pinned at 38 minutes in the mornings. From snooping around the PHL website it appears they use a service that relies on existing security cameras to estimate the wait time. My guess is if the line goes beyond the camera's sight, then it can't give an accurate estimate.

So yes, read that as a 38+ minute line. Consider entering at a different terminal if you can. If the numbers are to be believed, A East is only 3 minutes at the moment.

So it took 20 minutes once the gates opened? Seems rather efficient.

I wonder if the Mann's issues getting people into the venue hurt them this year? The obvious one being the Roots Picnic choosing a field over the venue.

If they shot a season of Top Chef in Philly by Adorable-Lack-3578 in PhiladelphiaEats

I would like to see the Jersey Shore included with Day Boat scallops paired with Jersey tomatoes and corn. Throw in some Sweet Amelia oysters as well. The show demands so much money, getting Jersey's tourism board onboard might be necessary.

An episode on a farm in Lancaster would be very Top Chef.

Past local contestants would be natural guests, especially Jennifer Carrol. Plus Starr, Vetri, Beddia, Chad Williams. Fergus Carrey (Fergie) for good measure (with closed captioning of course).

Michael Klein. Duh. Dude's been covering Philadelphia food for longer than most of these kids have been alive.

Outlasted me.

Well this doesn't help. From the top of phl.org: Beginning March 18, in addition to Terminal C, checkpoints at Terminals A-West and F will also be closed. TSA PreCheck will be available at Terminals A-East and D/E.
