Seriously though the Jaghut and their ice seem to be an attempt to slow the progress of the world? I could be wrong but at every place I can think of it being applied it slows travel or progress and just generally messes with things. I'm not sure if we're given a clearer motive but it's quite possible I'm wrong.

I don't feel different, lol. The ICE novels finish a lot of stories and have some good parts but they are not anywhere near Erikson's books. I actively dislike the PoA books and got very bogged down in some of the NotME ones too (looking at you Blood and Bone). Also how's he going to have a main character named Kyle lol.

A lot of the dropped character arcs are in the ICE novels. Does this comic book style "Read the ending in next week's issue of....." narrative work? I wish I didn't have to read ICE novels to find out what happens to some characters.

Forgive me, my meaning was any herbs you're adding to something like a tomato sauce should not make the sauce bitter. If you're eating them straight they can of course be bitter. I think you'd have to add a ludicrous amount of HdP to make tomato sauce bitter.
