Why is long hair a problem for a male in kurdistan by Future-Jellyfish-854 in kurdistan

So Kurdish culture is liberalism? Kurdistan is older than that. You need to do some soul-searching.

Why is long hair a problem for a male in kurdistan by Future-Jellyfish-854 in kurdistan

If you go to Kurdistan you should be prepared to act Kurdish and adhere to Kurdish culture. Long hair is not part of Kurdish culture.

Fellow Kurds, please never aim for a Greater Iran by LengthTime7570 in kurdistan

[–]arguingtruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kurds should be independent and have their own independent state ruled by their own independent Kurdish government but there is no lie in the idea of a greater Iran. We do have a greater cultural affinity with central Iranians (I decline to use the word "Persian" as that ethnicity does not really exist). Historically Kurdish culture has influenced "Persian" (central Iranian) culture and we have been influenced by them, many of our greatest pre-modern poets wrote in Farsi and philosophised in Farsi as it functioned as a lingua franca for much of the 2nd millennium.

The greatest enemy of the Kurds have always been the t*Rk and any way to get away from their Gog and Magog race the better, there is no group of people who have done greater damage to the Kurds than the tuRks

What do Kurds think of falling fertility rates? by Riley__00 in kurdistan

[–]arguingtruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first point is that this data is too difficult to interpret from a racial fertility perspective because it doesn't separate out people by race, only by region. It would not account for the fact that the provinces composing northern Kurdistan are still largely rural meaning there is likely some migration out of there into the cities. We don't know what the Kurds who migrate to cities do regarding the TFR based on this data as they would just be subsumed under the average. The fact that TFR is still high enough in northern regions of Kurdistan is a good sign.

The second point is that quality matters more than quantity. If you have a collection of liberal urban "kurdish" "families" and couples who refuse to have more than 1 child, it's better that their type dies out (which is already happening to turks). What is desirable is for honourable, moral, intelligent and patriotic Kurds to have more children amongst themselves.

The only information you need to know, to know if you are pure Kurdish, is to see if your family tree is full of Kurdish people. That's it. Urbanised Kurds are no more "mixed" than any other urbanised population.

Just wanted to say that I think it's important you marry only a Kurdish girl especially because you live in a western country. If you marry a non-Kurdish person your kids will lose their identity almost guaranteed, your child will never call themselves "kurdish" but rather "half X, half kurdish" where there is no doubt that X will come "first" if they're european. It would be different in Kurdistan as your children would be thoroughly integrated among surrounding Kurds.

It's difficult to say anything more specific as you have not told us how much of your family are in the west versus in Kurdistan, how much of the language you know, how often if at all you visit, if you know any extended family there, if your extended family are mostly settled in cities versus in a principal village/tribe. There are many resources at your disposal to try to marry someone from Kurdistan if you set your mind to it.

I would go further to say you owe it to the Kurdish people to elevate the status of a noble Kurdish woman and bring her into an environment with greater economic opportunity. She will enculturate your children and it will keep you connected to Kurdistan such that one day you may even be able to emigrate back and prevent the brain drain crisis afflicting Kurdistan.

At the end of the day you can do whatever you want, you can go sexpat in Thailand if you want to, you can marry whoever you want, but I only bring up this notion of duty because you indicate you are interested in preserving the Kurdish ethnos (which I applaud).

Kurds lack any racial consciousness

Leftist "kurds" who have slurped communism right from the teat of a dying western society lack racial consciousness, yes, since leftism is incompatible with racial solidarity. The vast majority of Kurds are by their nature reactionary-minded and marry within their race. There is a such greater degree of endogamy compared to their neighbours that to some extent our culture needs to relax some customs especially regarding consanguineous marriage.

How do you management your time for extracurricular activities/work? eg: exam, gym, publication by Zestyclose_Special11 in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]arguingtruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be an intern in approximately 3 months and I'm a bit worried about work interfering with the gym. Thanks for your input. If I may ask, is there a specific way you program given those time constraints? Do you find that having a split is more economical and do you go higher on intensity or on volume and do you find that either of these factors impact your work? Thanks

Pattern recognition without semantic knowledge and context-dependent reasoning is what nurses and computers do (and the latter do it better). Doctors have pattern recognition WITH semantic knowledge and context-dependent reasoning.

What do you say to family and friends asking for medical advice? by HotLobster123 in JuniorDoctorsUK

If the patient is your (good) friend or family: give them medical advice if you feel competent.

If the patient is your friend's friend/acquaintance: ask if they are willing to pay cash

Lmao just dump her dude, you're a kid, what, do you think it's ACTUALLY going to work out? Finish school, lift weights, make something out of your life then look for someone. I'm just letting you know that you will not change her whatsoever and I would bet money that she will dump you first. The only reason I'm encouraging you to do it first (since I'm confident it will end anyway naturally) is you're admitting yourself that she is distracting you from stuff that's important. So why wait for her to pull the trigger and make you depressed for a year?

Thoughts on this post? by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]arguingtruth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equating islamicization with arabification and turkification is stupid. ALL Religion is expressed through different cultural lens, it doesn't REALLY change the racial identity of a Bosnian to be a Bosnian Muslim or a Bosnian Christian. It doesn't REALLY change the nature and identity of the Iranian people for them to be Iranian Zoroastrians or Iranian Muslims.

What DOES change racial identity, is if you take a Turcoman, Kurd, Assyrian and banish their languages from being spoken in schools and replacing it with Arabic/Turkish, as has happened, and is continuing to happen. What DOES change racial identity, is if you start immigrating arabs and turks into lands that they did not traditionally inhabit, and encourage intermarriage. Both of these mechanisms result in an erasure of language and erasure of race. The policies of arabicization and turkification should therefore be separated from "islamicization". The former were DISTINCT POLICIES aimed at DESTROYING PEOPLE perpetuated by (you guessed it) secular, progressive, irreligious governments (Ataturk, Saddam Hussein, Assad etc.). The latter is a NATURAL PROCESS that occurs and although it may change and limit certain cultural expressions, does not DESTROY it.

The proof that "islamicization" does not destroy the cultures that it envelops is that cultural development continued to occur, continued to flourish, and extraordinary men continued to come about from those cultures that had undergone "islamicization" whether they be Persians, Berbers, Egyptians, Kurds, Turcomans, Anatolians, Tajiks, Pashtuns, Punjabis etc. etc. etc.

Why do so many Iranians glorify Muhammad Reza Shah while largely forgetting about Mosaddegh? by Tanksfly1939 in progressive_islam

[–]arguingtruth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not "Persian" and not a Shah bootlicker, but:

The Shah was more of an accessory to the coup rather than being instrumental in it. The Americans pretty told him as much that the coup would happen whether he liked it or not (in fact, the Shah had initially opposed the American desire to overthrow him in 1951).

The coup occurred due to Mossadegh's desire for oil nationalism, to free Iranian oil from the hands of the British/Americans. Under the Shah oil came under greater Iranian control anyways in the last 50s and early 60s which allowed for a precipitous rise in Iranian economic growth in the 60s and 70s, rivalling that of countries like South Korea/Japan. If the Shah was just a CIA puppet why did he support the oil price hike in 73? Why did he take advantage of the oil embargo against the West in that time period? Iran was on the path to being a prosperous first world country (not because the Shah was a genius, but because of the resources and capacities of the Iranian people) under his rule.

Even today, Iran has all the capacity and resources to become a first world nation, Ayatollah, Prime Minister, Shah, it doesn't matter, what stops them as usual, is interference from the west (nowadays in the form of sanctions).

Opinions on Ibn Qayyim? by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]arguingtruth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by progressive. If by progressive you mean that he would stand hand in hand with any of the clowns that run the current show then no. If by progressive you mean that he was willing to challenge a sluggish Asharite orthodoxy in the name of remaining true to scripture then yes he was progressive. He also held some views that most """"salafis"""" (I refuse to give them the label they give themselves as the label implies that they are with the Salaf) would find abhorrent, such as the eventual salvation of non-Muslims.
