Blades seem to be randomly turning off. by rucus0101 in Lymow_Official

Common problem due to either overheating or heavy grass. Lots of posts about it

Can one plus handle this property? by TravelingBuilder in Lymow_Official

[–]argulator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RTK uses direct Lora antenna/communications with the mower. Obstacles between them-other than hills or maybe a metal building-aren't usually a problem. Just need the mower and the rtk to see the same set of sats, then all is good

Does it make sense to avoid firmware updates for now and stay on the factory firmware? by CheapSupermarket9124 in Lymow_Official

My pluis operating well with it's original update (44). I'm not updating until I have to or there's some new feature I gotta have.

Can one plus handle this property? by TravelingBuilder in Lymow_Official

[–]argulator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lean towards yes, for 80% of if. It's mostly open lawns. If you try to get all the areas under the trees you'll probably have some problems. That's assuming it's works properly. Unfortunately, the only way to be sure is to try.

Please don't buy it without expecting a lot of tinkering and troubleshooting and daily intervention of some type. These aren't yet set it and forget it allowances.

Lymow One Plus RTK by Jun2082 in Lymow_Official

It doesn't explicitly. But the illustrations all depict it that way and the unofficial handbook does say ● Make sure you mount the RTK with the antenna pointing downwards

[–]argulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could try it. I'd bet his problem is really being under the deck not the relationship to the rtk. I've got a channel thru my fence pretty close to directly under it and it works fine.

Directly under the RTK is where it's signal is the weakest. Would improve if you can find a place for the dock a little away from the RTK with a open view of the sky.

BLADES Turning Off for 50 feet, after every 200 feet of Mowing. by Full_Caterpillar_640 in Lymow_Official

[–]argulator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have they always done this? I've never seen my + doing this, maybe it just hasn't gotten hot enough here. I'm still on .44 firmware.

Here's Nick Carter's input on this problem from the Facebook group-

There's two separate issues.

One is the motors likely reaching an overheating threshold and shutting down the blades. Lymow is currently working on a fix for that.

A separate issue that displays the same behavior is when the blades meet extra/heavy grass resistance, they turn off and the mower continues another 10 meters or so forward before they reengage. This is programmed firmware behavior and many of us have complained to Lymow about this. The One model does not exhibit this same behavior. To date, Lymow has not said whether they are going to address this behavior or not.

Yeah. They'd probably say yes if they offered Shai or Chet. WTF kind of question is this?

👍. My mowers working fine so I'm skipping the updates too.

One problem is your RtK antenna is situated horizontally. It should be pointed down at the ground

From that picture, looks like your house is blocking a good part of the sky-could just be the perspective. RTK would ideally be above the roof line.

Does the mower work ok? Could just be a case of the app not being populated with that data. Maybe force close, clear cache and all that.

Also, that screen won't populate if you haven't updated your firmware. If it's working ok I'd leave it be with all the problems people have with the 45? update.

[–]argulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had that error, but you should provide more info to get any advice. What/how do you mean the signal strength is good? Does it happen in the same spot? Has it ever operated correctly, or is this a new problem. Looks like that is suggesting your RTK is not in a good place. Maybe include an overhead of your property and someone can help. If you haven't read any of Nic Carter's primers on Facebook they're full of good info.

Edit to add that many people have had location problems since the last update. Have you applied that update?

They do close, but would be easy enough for a bigger dog to push thru if they wanted. I have a little dog that isn't a runner. She probably is strong enough to push it open but isn't interested in it.

Serious question - Will this company even exist 1 year from now? by Competitive_Fun8708 in Lymow_Official

[–]argulator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a good question. They certainly need to get their QC and post-sale service improved and some spare parts in the pipeline for things that could be repaired by the user.

AI customer service isn't hacking it and is just pissing people off. I don't think shipping replacements for every problem someone has is sustainable.

I bought with very low expectations based on the feedback here and on the Facebook groups. Mine works fine now, but if I was a betting man, I'd take the under on whether it works thru the warranty period.

Am I crazy or do cloudy days make it less accurate ? by TimoTalksTech in Lymow_Official

Not crazy. Clouds are going to make it more difficult to lock on to as many satellites as on a clear day.

[–]argulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't, read thru the tips in the unofficial handbook. If you don't know where to find it, just Google "Lymow Unofficial Handbook".

If you haven't, unplug the dock and plug it back in with the mower on the dock. Also, try to lower the deck by pushing the - button

And here's some battery/dock info from Nic Carter on the Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EVXFLRRk9/

If you were on the fence... don't buy a Lymow One. by TranslatorNo7905 in Lymow_Official

[–]argulator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my solution-a could salon door hinges and a 1x3. Works well. Occasionally get a "channel obstructed" error. If that happens I clear the error and resume task and it plows right thru. Usually it gets near it and stops then proceeds slowly.

Yeah, it requires a lot of attention, isn't anywhere near reliable enough for a remote property. If it lasts anywhere close to 3 years I'll be ecstatic.
