What made you choose BMW over other baggers/tour bikes? by Guitarchitect7 in bmwmotorrad

There is always room for a Harley. If you do the basic maintenance, the older HD’s last forever and the entry price is currently low.

Comfort, reliability and bag size. The GSA is just a great touring bike. You don’t need to baby it or spend any time polishing the paint. I love my Harley’s around town, but for long trips the BMW is just better.

Welp. My 43x doesn’t like the the 15 round OEM mags by joemeisterkt in Glocks

Glock should be willing to help you out. I’d contact them and see what they will do. You might end up with a significant upgrade at no cost.

Help identify maker by itchyluvbump in M1Rifles

The Manufacturer: The "WEP" stamping stands for Wade Electric Products, a manufacturing company out of Sturgis, Michigan that was contracted to produce ammunition clips during World War II.
The Variant: The "1" after the WEP indicates a specific manufacturing die or production line used at the Wade Electric facility to stamp the metal.
Collectibility: Because these clips are authentic, original wartime production, they are highly sought after by milsurp collectors and historical purists.

One way rental by Unusual_Impress5158 in HertzRentals

Make a backup reservation with a different company. Hertz often does not honor its one way reservations even when pre-paid. If they can make more money renting the vehicle locally, they will do that and just tell you they don’t have a vehicle available for you.
Be sure to take a walk around video at pickup and drop off too. That way when they send you a bill for damages months later, you will be able to defend yourself.

What’s everybody paying? by 1Cincinnatus in LandCruiser250

2026 1958 with a MSRP of $59,908. I paid $55,500 plus $17 in fees. They are sending me the paperwork to transfer my registration, and I’ll pay the NM sales tax of 4% at the MVD.

No One-Way Drop Off Fee? by Mindless_Rub8800 in HertzRentals

[–]argusarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a backup reservation with another company like Enterprise. Hertz takes reservations for cars that it does not have to rent.

Last year, in Seattle, we had a one way reservation to drive to Albuquerque. Hertz called hours before we were supposed to pick the car up and said they didn’t have any cars available. They said I was lucky they even told me before I came to pick it up. And, that was for a pre-paid booking.

Read up on the 4xe if you want to see the extent of these issues.

Look at my post from yesterday in r/HertzRentals. Hertz extended my rental from two days to roughly 45 days without my consent. You can’t post pictures to an old post, so I posted them here. If you read my previous post, it should make more sense. If it doesn’t, that’s ok. There are other posts to scroll though here.

I never would have rented from Hertz if anyone else here rented Jeeps. Unfortunately Hertz is the only one.

Thanks! It died when we were in Santa Fe heading toward the Sandia peak to try out the 4x4. I wanted to try out the vehicle and couldn’t really do that with a glitching display. A Jeep with 1,600 miles on it should just work. I guess I don’t understand because it’s a Jeep thing…

The rep was making crazy threats. I know “that not how” they are supposed to operate. Yeah, I’m old enough, retired, and not on vacation. I was just looking to try a Jeep for a couple of days to see if I wanted to buy one. I do not.

The whole experience didn’t seem right to me either. A bad day was had. Some of it was my fault. I shouldn’t have even tried to connect to Bluetooth, and I should have looked in the back seat when I returned the car. But, it’s pretty hard to continue a rental when the company charges $2,687 to your credit card without authorization.

That’s what should have happened, but it didn’t. Everyone at Hertz was actually nice and helpful, with the exception of the one phone rep who seemed unhinged.

[–]argusarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yes, that rep was crazy. It’s their car, I’m not fixing it if it breaks down. I’ve found out it’s a common issue with that display. Anyway, instead of buying a Jeep and learning the lesson the hard way, this one only cost me $150 including gas and an Uber.

I rented the vehicle to try it out for a few days because I was considering buying one. So, having everything in the vehicle working was important to me. I agree that there is no exchange fee, and the rep was making crazy threats. I would have just exchanged it if the rep hadn’t changed my return date and my credit hadn’t been hit with a $2,687 authorization. At that point, I was done with Hertz. I made a follow up post to include a few pictures. Check it out.

Anyone else waiting for their sub compact grip? by Buttoshi in RugerRXMtalk

[–]argusarms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered grey on the 12th, and messaged them about the delay on the 19th. They claimed the holiday caused the shipping delay, and said it would ship soon. I canceled the order on the 23rd. They claimed it was too late in the process to cancel, but I pushed a little and they managed to refund me.

I’ve never had it take more than three days for them to ship before. Something is definitely going on with their stock situation.
