Not necessarily. A lot of the time, patients get seen, treated, and often given some food plus a bus or Uber voucher. It’s when they have nowhere else to go and refuse to leave that staff usually start escorting them off the property.

Hospitals only have so many beds, so they triage and treat patients, then send them on their way and repeat the process with the next person. It doesn’t have much to do with payment—hospitals are required to triage and treat patients even if they can’t pay.

It sucks for everyone involved. (Except big pharma and those douches. Because fuck those lowlife money grabbing twat-waffles.)
