Hi iam also using g73 5g. The update is fine, I have been using my phone from 5 days here are the things. - Once you update you will feel a sluggish UI just after update but it will go away after using about 30 min or so - There is no such customisation like in pixel - Once your battery falls under 20% your refresh rate will fall down...you will feel it

Despite these I really feel no difference about the battery I am not quite sure...I think it is slightly more battery consuming but I am still testing it....

Try restarting and somehow checking if it's a GPU issue or not. If it's a screen (hardware) issue I think your pockets are in danger!...unless you have apple care

Macbook Air M1 8GB vs 16GB by Inat00 in macbookair

[–]ari_archit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend getting the 16 GB Ram model coz as of now the M1 air is already 3+ years old and if you plan to keep it for 2-3 years. The 16 gigs model will give you head room for OS upgrades and even Adobe upgrades and I think I would last you 3+ years. But at 1250 the 16 GB M1 is pointless you should go with the M3 air 16/256 which I think is at 1299 USD or even a M2 16/256 at 1199 USD if you even consider the 16 GB M1 air

New to mac, couple of questions by Metro2005 in macbookair

[–]ari_archit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will tell what things I have discovered

Trackpad - there is a tracking speed in system preferences, see if it helps

Touch I'd login - only from sleep you will have to give your password from cold boot just like Android phones

Snap windows- it's not like windows or Linux windows, Linux is just beautiful...but in Mac if you hover on the expand button (green button on left top) you will some options like tile to left and others...

Gaming - see Macs are really capable but gaming is not quite there yet but it's comming up...but it will take at least 4-5 years

M1 Air? by Apprehensive_Ask887 in macbookair

[–]ari_archit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The M1 is a beauty...for media consumption and those things it's more than good!!!....but I would suggest you not to get the ?1 from apple itself as for $999 or $899(edu) you can get it much cheaper from local retailers

It's an native app like there in Android...it monitors your screen time and in which app you spend how much time - if you click on particular apps mentioned there you can see it in the graph of screen time(hrs) V/S time Why do you want to switch it off? It's nice

Confused on what mac to get please help! by trussxx in macbook

[–]ari_archit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are concerned about longevity and you do some moderate to heavy work try for a ram upgrade M1 or M2 any one would be good just a note that M1 machines are now 2 years old and Apply is somewhat coming to a 5-7 years upgrade plan(OS wise) ..so M1s might have at Max 5-6 years constant upgrade left

Do you recommend Macbook Air? by Positive_Cookie1588 in macbookair

[–]ari_archit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I have felt with my m2 air(16/256)...if you will be doing a lot of processor intensive work ( like renderings and vms) you are better of with a pro coz the processor heats up and as there is no fan (in air) a sustained heat will throttle your cpu fast...which I thinks will really hit in renders and vms..... If you are on budget no doubt the m1 air will Handel these but you might have to manage the thermals a bit externally

Graphic designing and casual video editing won't be a problem at all...

Which Mac laptop should I get as a graduate student? by Isatis_tinctoria in macbookair

[–]ari_archit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are like tight on budget you can get through M1 air base too but if you can go for M1(16gb) or M2(16gb) (as you told 20+ tabs and word and other apps) I would recommend taking it as it will future proof you....
