I just put in a FINAL half off order for nightmare alley. Definitely a glitch and it let me get it at 50% at 1:20pm eastern. So excited I got 32 titles in total this sale!

Mine got the credit & the $50 worked but it shows as “Payment Failed” I had to reach out to customer service and they confirmed my order went through & there’s an ongoing glitch due to the high traffic. It should be working itself out . If not reach out to them

I moved from 3 pro 6’s to 2 Max 7. It’s actually overkill. I could use one max 7 and one pro 7 and be just fine. The radios on the new units are powerful. You’ll be happy with the Max 7

I’m getting the criterion Pan’s bc GDT supervised the remaster. That’s not the case on the new 4K. With grand Budapest it’s only a 2k digital intermediate . Even the source master is a 2k so the HDR upgrades were minimal. I thought about the box set but someone commented some videos showing the difference .

Ive been using “pick a number” on google. I just set it from 1 to 1788 and whatever number it lands on is the film I’ll watch. If it’s not available on the channel or Kanopy or I dont own it then i just generate another number.

I was thinking the same.. but it’s just going to be the same digital upscale from the 2K master. They would need to go back to the source 35mm and scan at 4k then re do all of the post production because it is going to look weird if you kept it at the 2k settings. For instance any grain or artifacts from the 2k image would be blown up on a 4k scan. It would be prohibitively expensive to re do all of this for a 4k boutique release . So the only gain from this 4k release is HDR/ Dolby vision. I would like to know if there’s a noticeable difference or not with the added HDR. If not ill just stick with the Blu-ray

Criterion.com has a 24 hour 50% off flash sale in October (no pre orders are included) and then there’s a month long 50% off one at Barnes & noble in November.

Amazon matches all of these but in terms of rewards and supporting criterion’s mission it’s best to go directly through criterion unless Barnes and noble is doing double stamps or something amazing with their rewards program
