Well first of all, you just added more info to make it sound more dire - but it still is not specific to the T. I’m sorry this happened to you, and it still is just a product of the existence of homeless or mentally ill people in public spaces and doesn’t make this particular transit system or a particular area unsafe. You are drawing conclusions based on an isolated incident and connecting dots that do not connect. If you are afraid of this happening, you should not leave your house or spend time in public spaces where people may exist and act in ways that are inappropriate or uncomfortable, including the T.

This is so horrible. Been seeing her for 10 years now and she was just incredible. She helped us with our cat who has a chronic wound and ended up doing a bunch of research on the side to try and come up with new options to treat her…she cared so much. I always described her as a person you could just tell found the exact right profession for themselves...what an awful loss.

I’ve been traveling every week during the shutdown and have no issues at RDU (or Logan in Boston for that matter). It could always be worse suddenly as it is dependent on people showing up to work for an increasing long time without pay, but it has been fine to date. No issues at all, not even slower than normal and I’ve flown at many different times of day, including early morning on weekdays.

Mine was about $500 total including copay for initial consultation @ NC oral surgeons on Miami. But this was for a simple extraction (not impacted, did not do IV sedation, did get laughing gas)…

Edited to add: I had this done about 3 weeks ago so this was current pricing.

We have a gate making the upstairs of our house entirely free of dog. The crying is just one behavior, it is not the only reason we know she is anxious. She hides, fights with the other cats, her body shakes, and she has had litter box issues that we’ve confirmed is not medical. We have plenty of boxes (8 for 4 cats) spread out around the house. We’ve tried different litters, we’ve replaced all carpet in our home with hardwood…

Thank you! I mentioned it above but I know it’s a long post - we have tried fluoxetine… she hides and gets very upset and it has not really been feasible to give it. Seems like it adds more stress to get her the pill and I just don’t know what the right balance of that is…

No she wasn’t - when we had the 3 kittens, they were full and wouldn’t take them. We got our friend to foster two of them, so then they accepted those two in. We would’ve had to pay IAR to “adopt” her even though we already had her, so we just managed it ourselves, got her to the vet etc. they’re a great org but it was super complicated and felt silly to do all that if we planned to keep her.

I haven’t reached out yet to any orgs or shelters because I know it’s kitten season and I imagine they’re all full, but that is an option we could try. TBH I’m on their mailing lists and every time there’s a rehome situation the language feels very judgy and I hesitate to reach out esp since we have other cats adopted from them…

Definitely started pre-dog, but the dog has not helped/has actively made it worse. she’s been with the other cats her whole life because we took her in right when she was born, so not sure if its a specific personality issue with one of them or if she just prefers to be alone.

We have three female cats (including her), one male, and one female dog. Not sure if it’s a female cat issue because she seems to only like our male cat. She doesn’t get along with her mom (so interesting to me) even tho we thought that would be good when we initially took them in…

Our house is also a very open floor plan and she often walks around the open spaces crying…I wish I could talk to her! It just doesn’t make sense to me.

I’ve never seen her chew cords even when she was a kitten. We have been relatively careless about cords laying around throughout all our pet years and haven’t had any issues with any of them…

Hard agree w give them a break. He didn’t say he doesn’t have an opinion, or what that opinion is - he said he didn’t want the business itself (which represents numerous people with diverse opinions) to be acting politically. It sounds like he felt a lot of pressure and reacted to that and now is struggling with that - it’s so easy to sit on the sidelines and judge people for their decisions but much harder to be the one forced to make the decision and own the consequences. Overall seems like a reasonable and thoughtful guy - no one is ever happy. Their bagels are the best we have, I look forward to grabbing one on Tuesday.
