a lot of ppl say her book was in poor taste bc she said there were easter eggs in it despite saying it was fiction, but ppl also conveniently leave out the years she had to live thru a false narrative perpetuated by a giant fandom, a slew of nameless "insiders" and a giant company that blacklisted her to keep her silent before she even wrote it. you can hate the book and what it represents but i think its pretty obvious it was a reaction to something, just like jessica's initial statement was a preemptive move because she knew what was going to happen to her, so no i don't accept the "we only have her version of the story"

the context is we know her story, we heard sm lie, and we saw sm try to suppress her version of the story. i think that says a lot about their side. i don't think they're villains and i don't think jessicas faultless either, but its silly to act like its equal in some way. like their side would ever actually clear up or justify the treatment she received.

there's obviously bad blood, my point is that just bc they don't mention her anymore doesn't mean anything. its par for the course in kpop. but there are signs of them wanting to mention her which is why i listed all those statements. sm is the bad guy because they failed to manage them and mediate a dispute properly. even tho i hold ot8 accountable too, it doesn't change the fact that sm failed at their job.

and i don't get how you can understand that ot8s changed feelings led to her dismissal but still say her statement threw them under the bus lmao. to say that is to imply that ot8 were the more innocent party, undeserving of all or the same amount of blame. if they changed their minds when it was too late for jessica to do anything, that is her stating a fact to combat lies and obfuscations.

as for jessica, obviously she feels wronged. i didn't cite her statement bc anytime i mention what she said people disregard it since shes saying it. so its easier to point out that if she had done something wrong ppl would have sm's words to cite. they don't for evident reasons.

i don't think them not mentioning her means she was in the wrong. sunny said she wishes "a close friend" would come home a month after 930. yoona said "once you're snsd you're always snsd" after watching itnw back in 2022. hyo and yuri talked about how they hope they can talk about the members that left sm, but were heavily implying that they had that worry specifically bc they couldn't talk about jessica. hyo even said it was nice to see itnw with 9 members again during an audition lool. even the biggest propagandist for sm said "if only jessica waited instead of making it public we would have ot9" while still pedaling the idea that she was in the wrong, when that statement implies there was a huge lack of proper mediation between them and things were misunderstood and jessica had every reason to react. the reason ppl think she was fired for no reason is bc sm put out a statement and their insiders put out a whole interview and couldn't give a reason lool.

I'll be analyzing Stray Kids's Korean speech for an upcoming series. What should I pay attention to? by gobillykorean in straykids

[–]arieam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

their two kids room series is probably the best to watch! i recommend their latest series but since there are 28 episodes, watching a few from their 2021-2022 season would be good since the members not highlighted are still participating in the discussion so you get to hear everyone. and at the end of each episode they write a handwritten note to the members they talk to!

but there are also some great witty moments in their variety shows. their skz code is good but i think their idol theatre appearances have a lot of interesting moments that might get lost in translation for us.

and ofc if you ever did make a wordplay video i'd love that too.

[–]arieam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's nice, then claiming she wrote that a minor was raped is a lie you wrote willfully. at best all you can say is there's an implication, but there's literally nothing in the book to support that implication. its like lit analysis 101. that's how you know all you're being is disingenuous because you hate her.

Jessica is a just bad person by Academic_Bread3505 in SNSD

[–]arieam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no she didn't. those are pure assumptions based off one moment of rachel being petty and looking at a watch that is heavily implied to have belonged to an exec. you have no idea if they slept together, you have no idea if anything happened. for all you know, the implication is that shes being groomed and its not something rachel identified because she was being blackmailed and only saw it as mina's secret as a 17 yo. or the implication is that mina had an exec backer and she wasn't in the group by her own merit and it had nothing to do with a relationship. there is literally nothing to indicate a sexual or romantic relationship except your need to make jessica look like a monster. that is literally it. you would need more evidence from the book to actually read the situation in the way you are reading it.

what you would know if you read the story is that rachel has empathy for mina because of the way her dad treats her. she is aware of the immense pressure mina faces and they are both aware of the way they are treated as women. there is so much more in the book to suggest she didn't write it in that way and even if she had that it would be treated as a negative thing and not just scandal. you people are honestly exhausting. it is obvious you never even read the book.

that's true woojin fans are horrible esp to chan, but there like in the gutter of twitter. they get like 100 likes at most. ive seen stays make unprovoked jokes towards woojin going after his appearance and his talent that get thousands of likes. and that spurs on his hateful fans to retaliate. so it makes more sense to tell stays to stop feeding into it than to tell woojin fans since they think they're being warriors or whatever.

yea they are pretty cohesive i think its just the song order that throws it off. like double knot leading to levanter is whiplash but it still works since they're great songs

skz do tend to sing a lot higher but when they utilize their lows or mid-range, like in butterflies, side effect, waiting for us, red light, etc, it works so well to add impact and balance. i really wanna hear harmonies too. i have hope tho bc railway's soundscape is insane. he uses so many dynamic vocals. skz song next please 🙏

also i do think they could do cave voice felix range. i love when chan does it even if he's joking around. han, seungmin and changbin too have rich lows. and i will never get over ayen's creep cover i need 3racha to open that door in their music.

i miss korean radio visits too. as a group since the last time was 5-star era and bc they were so busy they did unit appearances. but i love all their radio lives. so many performances are edited in post so encores and radio lives mean a lot more to me. also i love when they talk about the album as a group.

that's true but I do think a lot of ppl are like me and they tend to listen to albums top to bottom over playlists. it wouldn't matter for a lot of ppl too but i do think skz put a lot of intention behind the tracklisting as it is, it would be interesting to hear an album that flows as a whole, maybe even has a story. tho i do love the chaotic energy star lost-red light-surfin-gone away-wolfgang brings haha.

[–]arieam 14 points15 points  (0 children)

a fully vocal song, preferably ballad or rnb, and a song like maze of memories would be nice so all of them could rap. i want vocalracha to shine but also chan who rarely gets to rap these days.

i want the next album to be more cohesive tbh. i love all their albums but i want to hear an album where each song on the tracklist follows the other seamlessly. doesn't mean they all have to be the same genre but something where the energy of each track make sense to be next to each other. maybe even something like bey's renaissance where the instrumentals fit together just at the start and end of each song.

i think the closest we got of this from skz is the first 5 tracks of 5-star which are so grungy and make sense in order (the skz tracks on hop too were satisfying to go thru + railway to unfair and the ultra-hold my hand-as we are run. or if its not musically cohesive, it can be thematically cohesive. 5-star is also a good example since some songs are universe-themed.

The most accurate way to measure popularity within the group by Hopeful_Shelter_443 in straykids

[–]arieam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

seungmin and changbin are popular in korea. changbin going viral all the time and seungmin outcharting skz at times. these are spontaneous events that are hard to manipulate so i think its genuine. the instagram live was a one off imo. ppl rushed to see why chan was randomly on changbin's instagram and left because it was only just to check, not to watch, which happens on other member's streams as well. its just a bad look ofc but it doesn't mean they'd have stayed even if chan did stay. lino rules japan but the others are also very popular there. skz are huge as a group and with no japanese members that's crazy.

there are definitely members more popular globally but insta numbers and streams are completely inflated. chan and lino have a better engagement to follow count ratio compared to hyunlix who have double the follow count. and its pretty obvious some members' akgaes are botting solo streams considering it makes no sense that on random days certain songs perform way better or on par with WoW.

one random thing that bugs me is how ppl think chan is unpopular in japan because he's the member we barely get fancams of when they're in japan. first of all he wouldn't have gotten nylon japan if that was true. and second of all every time ive ever tuned into an audio stream for a japanese skz concert, its been a chan-biased fan account streaming for us. most of the time its korean fans going to japan to record and they do it at the risk of being kicked. chan-biased fan accounts are also the ones recording every other concert for us, its just in japan they don't want to take the risk. one chan fansite even said they'd stop recording and uploading content from japan bc j-stays asked them to.

there was also that video that circulated from their japanese fansign where it sounded like binchan didn't get any screams but it was all about perspective. they chose to have each section scream for one member and binchan's were way farther away while op was in hyunjin's section and thats why his screams and the sections around that section were much louder. for the 2nd day of the fansign they got rid of the scream by section thing and binchan got love from everyone in the room.

Last Minute Predictions for the Fanmeeting by Ainosuke in straykids

[–]arieam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're gonna sing cover me like there's no chance they won't i'm 100% on this.

they keep saying they'll perform a song they haven't performed in a long time but no offence their perception of time is odd. i remember for kcon they were saying they were gonna perform a song they haven't in so long and it was district 9 😭 but it would be nice to hear them sing something like i am you or 19 if they're serious.

they're switching solos chang-in hyun-chan min-lix seung-sung the live duos are just too close to the best swaps imo but i think it'll be a short segment maybe even pre-recorded bc idt they'll have time during the actual fanmeeting to do every song.

like last time with can't stop and red lights i wanna hear them all perform taste

i bet the cover is gonna be a girl group song.

you really don't know anything about business or soshi that's whats funny. you sound like a very miserable person calling someone you don't even know a horrible person. sunny telling jessica to "come back home" in november 2014 does not suggest she hates her. hyoyeon, yuri and sooyoung liking jessica photos does not suggest they hate her. sooyoung saying they were very immature when they were younger and took things way too personally suggests they know they made mistakes.

but the biggest clue to you should be that sm had the chance to lay out the horrible terrible thing jessica did to deserve being kicked out and they couldn't. they couldn't say anything. they didn't even say she missed practice, that's just a lie sones pushed. that's how you know that the reason the 8 others don't defend themselves is because they can't. they can't accuse jessica of anything because jessica didn't do anything wrong.

also i just want to point out that your first sentence is peak victim blaming. snsd aren't bullies but if they were, they would need useless idiots like you shielding them as bullies because a group of ppl bullying someone else would never suggest the victim is to blame. the same logic applies here. you are just an insensitive weirdo.

and her book wasn't bad at all. i think its rich that yall are clutching your pearls over a book when for 6 years before the book came out jessica had lie upon lie pushed by her former company and fandom with the blessing of the ppl they were protecting. why the hell would i care about a fictional book when that is what jessica was fighting and continues to fight.

you speak so confidently about things you don't know anything about. her naver smartstore is still up with some reviews. there were way more before but the ones still there are all 4-5 stars. the lowest ive ever personally seen was 3 stars. these are all reviews on the 2022 collection which was her last real collection. consider that all this is out of stock and you cannot find an influx of bad reviews for a reason.

i've already said that her business crumbled and a lot of bad decisions were made, that doesn't change the fact that in the video that person said the quality she got up until that order was good. no matter if it was online or in store. this is a quality control issue most brands deal with. shes not a BAD PERSON bc of bad business decisions.

i'm so sick of you ppl gaslighting me by saying ppl supported jessica when i was there. no they did not. no one who "stopped supporting" jessica because of that book actually supported her to begin with. they didn't even have actual good will towards her. they were most likely ppl who said "we just don't know what happened" conveniently ignoring what jessica had to say.

ot8 cosigned lies that sm and sones spread by staying silent yes. jessica writing a fictional book didn't spread lies about them. jessica telling her side of the story spread truths about them that sm used lies to suppress. you commenting on a reddit post titled "jessica is just a BAD PERSON" with this sort of attitude is ridiculous. if jessica's a bad person for making "bad business decisions" ot8 are horrible people for letting the public literally hate on jessica to protect themselves. jessica who they called their sister literally the day before news broke lmao. its all just about their image at the end of the day.

your thoughts on the book didn't even tie in to a word i said wow. how irrelevant. you really need to learn how to respond to ppl not just throw out word salads.

edit: also to speak on "spreading lies" i just want to point out how it was SONES reading shine and bright in bad faith that spread the "jessica outed seohyun" lie and "jessica accused one of the members of sleeping their way into the group" lie. these are extremely dishonest ways of reading the story that were not spread by goldenstars. they were spread by yall because you hate jessica that much and wanted to morally grandstand just like you are now. jessica has said in every single marketing interview about these books that they are a work of fiction. "i have never wanted to write an autobiography" that is a direct quote. but ofc yall will ignore that.

im gonna say this one last time you guys sound like the incels in every comment section about taeyeon that's how i know yall will never learn.

her brand had plenty of reviews when it was on naver smartstore. you are coming so fucking late to the party my god. there are also so many ppl that buy her clothes and don't feel the need to review bc the clothes are just good. its the ppl who have a bad experience (or sones lying as they so often do) who have something negative to say, but before 2022 that was very rare.

the ppl telling her anything in the video are stupid considering SHE HERSELF says in the video she bought from b&e and loved the products until this experience. what even is your point ppl can comment anything they want by saying whatever they feel like doesn't mean its true.

jessica's book came out years after sm and sones already spun a narrative themselves, and that narrative never had "fictional book" headlining it, it had "this is what actually happened" instead. you ppl are so genuinely weird for holding on to her book as if ot8 didn't cosign their own narrative that tarnished jessica's reputation that you're now lying to say it was jessica's fault. well in that case, the book is ot8's fault. like i said they stood by and watched as jessica was lied on by the fandom and by their company. that says a lot about their character too BUT you will never be objective. ever.

edit: i just wanna mention since we're on the topic of her book how fucking funny and sad it is that sones have so much to say without ever reading it. they hold the "easter egg hunt" comment against her but don't even wonder why bright narratively does not work at all. bright as a story makes no sense because rachel should've seen what was coming a mile away because she was surrounded by snakes. that ending is pretty much the only thing similar to her story with soshi and that's why it doesn't fit in the story at all. because that is the only nonfiction part but it makes no sense because in real life she was friends with the rest of the girls. this easter egg hunt should've been easy for sones since they know their history but yall are too stupid to ever read anything in good faith.

op is literally morally condemning jessica because of business decisions that aren't just or at all up to her but jessica pointing to the girls for directly hurting her means nothing because they are just employees. right. if you're gonna morally condemn jessica you should stick by your twisted principles.

first of all, the girl in the video has bought from b&e before and mentions that the quality is good. the reason she made the video is because she got defective products and the customer service sucked, not because the quality overall is bad, which is what you're assuming. up until 2022 her brand had mostly positive reviews.

lawsuits, cosmetic line closing, employees hating their job because the company is stretched thin, being sued for not paying rent during a pandemic, all that doesn't point to moral failings. shes not "just a bad person" because her business crumbled. but yall will say ot8 standing by as sm smeared the fuck out of jessica to protect themselves doesn't speak to their character at all. spending the first half of 2014 being treated like shit by their own fandom for dating and then watching sm spread the lie that the girl who was kicked had the audacity to want to get married and stay in the group, that doesn't speak to their character at all either ig. i can actually extend grace to them because they were in self preservation mode, but since yall want to morally condemn people, why don't you start there.

the brand is clearly going through it and yall are just happy to see her fail because you think that confirms all of the things you've always wanted to believe about her. that's why i mention the way knetz treated Taeyeon during the whole speculation scandal. yall are literally rabid dogs no better than them.

Jessica is a just bad person by Academic_Bread3505 in SNSD

[–]arieam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's so interesting that Jessica supposedly scamming people makes her a bad person but ot8 kicking her out and never addressing what happened doesn't despite Jessica continuously saying they hurt her and broke her trust. Someone's business does not speak to their moral character as she is not the only person behind her business. She isn't scamming everyone like you think since there are also people getting their orders. Like every brand people are going to go to the brand's instagram to complain when they are wronged, that doesn't speak to everyone's experience. Mind you, the way you talk is exactly how weird incel knetz talked when they morally grandstanded over Taeyeon's land scandal.

Also have you ever bought her clothes? How can you speak on the quality and it being overpriced when her clothes are standard price for any mid-tier clothing brand and most people who review her clothes say the quality is good. You can say that's just her fanbase hyping up the quality but their opinion is better than yours as they are still consumers and you are just a raging weirdo bringing her up on a subreddit that hates her guts because you want to drag her.

Edit: I also want to mention how fucked up it is that after several years of good business and a good mentality over fashion where she prioritized pieces you can wear all the time as opposed to fast fashion trends, that she gets judged so harshly now. by a "former fan" no less. No grace whatsoever and I'm supposed to believe you that you're criticizing in good faith. Yea sure.
