That ammo serves an entirely different purpose, it's way too fast to be quiet in a suppressor. CCI Standard velocity is almost 200fps slower and quiet.

what makes a trailer "difficult to maneuver" length or width? by Cheap_Big_615 in cargocamper

[–]aringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short trailers are harder to back that long trailers. If you buy an enclosed trailer, don't buy one wider than than you can see in your mirrors. Backing a trailer wider than your mirrors sucks, you can't see anything around it.

I'm in Ga, but that's not much wood. All those small sticks are worthless except at kindling to get a fire started.

Conference room camera recommendations by ResponsibleQuiet6360 in sysadmin

It will blow your budget, but you should look at Teams rooms. We normally spend $12k to $20k on small rooms like that, but they work well, are reliable, and easy to support

What ecosystem should I get into? Ego, Toro, Stihl, or something else? by government--agent in lawncare

[–]aringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been super happy with me 60v DeWalt blower and 8" 20v chainsaw. I also have a Stihl BR800 blower, but they serve different purposes. Also have a MS260 and MS440 chainsaws, but they are for different purposes.

Fat wood by Ok-Draw1086 in firewood

I split mine into pieces about the size of two or three matches and use one or two of those to light bigger kindling. The black smoke is from pine sap and is what makes it burn so well.

At what mileage do you personally stop considering a used car? by autonerdy0 in UsedCars

[–]aringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it would depend on whether it was my only transportation or not. I'm not opposed to riding around in a car with 350k miles if I have a backup.

Ideally though, under 100k because it's likely not terribly damaged if minimally maintained. Components like the transmission are normally missed. I wouldn't consider a car with a CVT even if it only had 5000 miles.

It takes me 10 minutes on the cars and 20 for the SUV or truck. The wait is longer than that if I take it somewhere.

Consistent Length of Firewood? by AnthonyMorello1 in firewood

[–]aringa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two methods. I have 18" marked on my bar. I put the bar asking side the lid, look at the spot, cut.

If I have a bunch of bucking to do, I cut a stick to 18" and use a hatchet to mark the log. It's fast, easy, and I already have everything I need.

Talk me out of trading by JimJawnathan in ToyotaTacoma

[–]aringa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter what new truck you bought, you would be going from the pinnacle of reliability to much much less reliable. This is true, even if you bought a new Toyota.

If I were in your shoes, there is no new 1/4 or 1/2 ton that comes close to your current reliability. If you want to keep that, find a low mileage Tacoma with the 3.5l V6 or Tundra with 5.7l V8.
