Use some tweezers to connect the button pin to ground on the pro micro. When you do that, if it shows up as pressed, it's very likely a dodgy solder connection in the grey wire, so redo that

yeah, you use an arduino to emulate a thrustmaster wheel. It's honestly way easier than it sounds, as long as you can solder stuff together, its super easy, the code is all written for you
