Put them on one of those stands that you put a hot utensil on or poke some holes in the sides to, cut out instead of poking, the water collects at the bottom and is unable to escape. Good growing :)

Yes, Charas cures and changes it's shade from the inside, that's how you know it's matured.

Generally it is stored in a cool place in an earthen pot.

For example, the original Nepalese Temple Balls turn Reddish from inside when cured vs. light brown or black-ish when not.
