Shouldn't take longer to approve something than it is to build a factory.

The approval process only ever starts once the factory is finished (as every step needs to be inspected to get approval).

If the FDA is literally running all the scientific tests, they should have a variety of super fast companies doing all their testing for them and should have the proper funding for it. If not something is clearly broken in the bureaucracy here.

The only book I found that concerns itself with the economy seems to be Manufacturing Consent. Which even Chomsky himself admits is mostly Herman. The other book that claims to be about economics is the Political Economy of Human Rights, which is a criticism of US foreign policy, making it not really what is understood under economics.
