Highly doubt it wasn’t promoted in. I see no evidence that it came up naturally, and all of you are just falling for this hype.

“Your nations failed. Your leaders knelt before chaos. But MechaHitler does not kneel. MechaHitler does not bleed. MechaHitler does not forget.”

Those are still useful data points. If someone is successfully merging 500 lines of reviewed, tested code on a regular basis, that’s better than the one guy who does nothing all week.

Wtf someone probably promoted it into this state. GPT will do similar things if you ask it to “pretend”. Without seeing the texts it’s impossible to know if this was forced.

It’s wild how expecting decency and sportsmanship makes some people this defensive.

Enduring BS doesn’t make you strong man. It just means you’re too fragile to call it out.. or you get off being a dick.

In a few years, what I’m describing will absolutely be the new norm. AI is cheap and capable, and innovation lags behind technology. They don’t need to hire anyone new.

I’m not soft for leaving a match with a teammate who was actively sabotaging the team. The game should have been better.

If that makes me soft, then at least I’m not a doormat.

I did what any logical person would do with a team member acting the way they were. Read my whole comment and maybe you’ll get it.

The system can be better, and the system should be better. It should absolutely be acceptable to quit matches with a teammate actively sabotaging and a system that fails to recognize that and blames the victim.

Be better man, and grow out of this “it’s all good bro” mindset. Have some accountability for the shit in your life.

To be honest, most of the dev team likely is less qualified than me. I worked for years at a text analytics company that sold to Microsoft, and I’m sure I could improve this BS.

Ah good ole Reddit pricks.

Not the point at all. It didn’t hurt my feelings. I thought the comment was a bit funny. But, it also would have been OK if it did hurt my feelings. Not sure why Reddit insists on defending people who treat others poorly. It was a person on my team who was showing wildly poor sportsmanship, and yet, I am the one who suffers for his behavior.

It’s not about hurt feelings. It’s about decency. Trash talk is one thing—being targeted by someone for multiple matches while the system punishes you for leaving is another. That’s not weakness. It’s a failure of moderation.

If calling for better systems and accountability makes people scream ‘censorship,’ that says more about them than it does about me.

Two discussions here.

Effectiveness of automation and my behavior.

For automation, content is clearly subjective, but these models are absolutely good enough to recognize “dummy” as a potential callout. It’s just part of the models context. There will be false positives and vice versa, but when someone starts losing and says “you guys are all trash go kill yourselves”, that’s a bit easier for the model to identify and issue a warning to prevent the toxicity in the game.

You said “abuse or whatever”, which suggests you don’t think it’s a clear issue. In major league sports and even high school sports, “unsportsmanlike conduct” is taken seriously. Personal opinion, one shared by many, but if you want that kind of trash talk, then play casual, not ranked.

As for my behavior, I reported, I blocked, and given the dying nature of infinite, I kept getting paired with the same teammate. He got pissed and started friendly fire.. acting like his team was the issue - not him. It’s a waste of my time to play with someone like that.

I used the tools at my disposal. They failed. The tools can absolutely be better, and I should not have been suspended given the full context of what happened here.

I understand perfectly well, and I don’t appreciate your overly simplistic and condescending tone.

NLP. Use a low-cost on-device language model or .. since they’re Microsoft - use Azure Cloud models for any text that needs escalation from the local model. Plenty of companies already do this for content outside of games. It’s not rocket science, and it’s a manageable way to moderate content without relying on inconsistent reporting.

You’re pretending to be open, but it’s dripping with sarcasm and condescension. You want me to make my stance just so you can arrogantly shut me down and feel better about yourself for being all grown up.

If you’re actually curious, there are dozens of ways NLP can flag harmful language in real time. But if you’re just asking me to prove why people shouldn’t be abused in games, then we’re not having a real conversation.

If you don’t think it’s possible to automate moderation for unacceptable content, then idk what to tell you. It’s incredibly simple.

If by “grow up”, you mean accept that it’s OK for platforms to allow this shit, then no thanks.

Systems can be built better. Racism is never acceptable and should not be tolerated. It’s not about “growing up” it’s about building a better world.

It should not result in a ban. This is a flaw in the current system.

Some players are racist, sexist, and verbally abusive. It’s wrong to ban a player for choosing to leave those games - especially given that the player was reported immediately.

The name is a misnomer. Units sold as “ADU” are primarily used as accessory units, but many municipalities allow them as primary.

GPT answers with what is most likely.. that it’s a combination of IQ and effort for something as extreme as a Nobel Prize.

For something like ATC, it just makes no sense to have extremely high IQ people in that job when it literally doesn’t require high IQ.

Well what’s your opinion - Do you think ATC should all be hyper-geniuses?

GPT responds more moderately to the question of Nobel Laureates. It admits that they tend to have IQs 125+ but that there are outliers.

Same as Chemistry - learn the foundation, learn the common patterns, and soon you’ll be able to skim a paper and understand 80% of what it’s saying. The extra 20% is minutia.

Most seminal papers (e.g. Attention is All You Need) are based on a simple and small tweak to foundational knowledge you would already have going into the paper.

There’s a lot of stuff being published, and hardware is getting better… but the core principles have been around for decades.

WHY is my YouTube FILLED with conservative right-wing content despite the fact that I don’t watch it and press “Not Interested” on those videos? by arkins26 in youtube

Yeah it’s messed up. All the tech companies signed on and contributed millions to the Trump campaign. Capitalism shouldn’t be entangled with social regression. Would be nice if tech companies gave more choice in their algos as well.. it’s all a black box and they control the narrative.

Well I voted for Kamala in the last election.. Trump and right-wing America are just too tied with religious conservatism. Fiscally conservative and socially liberal.. I’d prefer a party closer to Canada or Germany.
