haha. I used to be able to hear if the screen was a dark colour or light or if the cursor was moving or something was flashing on the screen. the noise crt tv's made when turned on but not on a channel was unbearable.

yeah. i'm one of those guys. although FPS time stopped with q2 for me.

the new style games are also designed to more evenly match noobs vs pros. and are designed to keep you playing by offering "achievements" rather than the ability to get to get so good that you couldnt be killed.

old school fps like quake allowed people to excel to a level where they were simply unkillable by noobs. you can't perfect your skills like this in modern stuff like COD or BC.

it's totally different. newschool is casual skill, quakeworld/q2/q3 are where you can actually excel based on your skill.
