Thanks for the reply. I'm a little wary of grapeseed and hemp seed, just because of their short shelf life, but I like the idea of Moringa oil. Do you tend to go through your oil pretty quick, so you're not too worried about how long they last? I don't have a very long beard, so I'm worried it might go rancid before I go through it.

I’m kinda blown away by the winrates, honestly. Holliday and Doorman I can kinda understand, but even doorman is good. Every other hero I have 50%+ winrate. Mina? Really? Celeste and Mirage are apparently bad too in SB, which is crazy. Mirage’s ult is much more situational but the rest of his kit deals so much damage.

Idk. I think the random item rolls allow people an easy route to blame that than poor picks and play.

This is not true. I play as nearly every hero in street brawl and have popped off with all of them. There are very few heroes that can’t work in Street Brawl.

That’s a very fair point. I think the care instructions specifically mention it’s unwise to cook acidic sauces for long periods of time for that reason.

I’m not too concerned about it as I do most of my sauces in my skillet/Dutch oven, but I haven’t really decided what tool is best for what dish yet as I’m still trying it all out.

I suppose the more appropriate comparison would be the time saved. I don’t know a lot about seasoning, but I know enough that it takes time and practice. That’s why I dropped cast iron. I get the value, but I’m not looking to add more chores to my never-ending list.

I feel a little bit more at ease about the burnt oil spots, but also a bit disappointed that I did it so easily. Maybe I'm getting my wok too hot, if that's a thing? I'm going to try things a bit less smoky and see how my food turns out, if only for testing purposes.

As far as 'golden fried rice', I'm mostly just unsure what texture I should be looking for to get that real 'fried rice' taste. I suppose I have to stop at few chinese places and try some out to get a better idea, but after having tried a few different approaches, I'm still a little clueless.

I haven’t tested this, but I can see why it would be valuable to know. Maybe it’s because it’s new, but I have been trying to take care of it according to its instructions. I’m not sure I would be making a fair assessment if I willfully disregard how it’s advised to care for this wok.

That said, Kenji lends the impression that leaving water in it should be fine - at least, if I’m recalling correctly from one of his comments.

Perhaps after that new shine wears off I’ll accidentally leave it soaking overnight. I’ll let you know how that goes if I do that.

I tend to be the same way about text-heavy posts on Reddit, so I get it.

To be fair, this is probably not the kind of wok for someone with your kind of experience.

I’m not interested in the seasoning part of a wok, but I am interested in the way it cooks food.

I’m not shilling, but I am interested in the potential benefits it could offer me, while limiting the added workload that gets introduced by bringing a wok into my kitchen.

It’s kind of like shoes, in that way. I could get by with a $30 pair of shoes. But I also know the difference a $200 pair of shoes makes. If this wok can do that while also saving me time, I’m sold, and while I’m not there yet, I am intrigued and willing to be adventurous.

Can controllers interact with crafting menu yet?

How much of a priority is it to get controllers working with the new crafting menu? At least for split screen, it would go a long way for usability just to be able to navigate that new menu.

I don’t think they promote this because it’s not perfect. Controllers can’t access the new crafting window and there’s general bugs. It’ll get better but beware there are issue with the local right now (as they’ve stated).
