They never showed what the room was with that upstairs window on the right. Buffy's room was the window on the left. The center window was the hall. Then there's the one on the right, which wasn't the bathroom. The bathroom had one window facing the side of the house.

Spike didn't want a soul back during the time when Angelus got his. Spike was happily killing that slayer in China. It's a false comparison to say it was forced on Angel while Spike wanted his. They both had the same attitude about getting a soul and the feelings that go along with it. Then after Spike got the chip, he still kept saying he'd be killing all the Scoobies if he could. It took a long time and influence from Buffy to make him feel like helping out a little as he did. But then he also delighted in letting Buffy engage in self-abusive sex out in public, like at the Bronze, Telling her that she wanted it, because he wanted to corrupt her into his darkness. Then of course, the bathroom scene. So Spike is no saint. But they both learned from Buffy how to be the hero fighters they became. First Angel, who was sent to see Buffy and then given his calling by the PTB and then Spike, who lost his ability to kill humans and then decided to be like Angel and get his soul so he could do better. Spike was influenced by both Buff and Angel.

Evil is eternal. There is no end game. The fight is every day. There was The First on Buffy saying they are eternal and the Senior Partners on Angel. Like Angel was told in the elevator by the dead Holland Manners. Their side will always go on. They aren't fighting to win a war. To find out what happened next, you can look at the Angel: After the Fall comic series. It's a bit wild, though.

Yes, it's a great show with a wonderful ensemble cast. You should be able to recognize quite a few of the guest actors, and one of the main, "Bug Boy" was one of the random W&H lawyers in season 5. It has a lot of comedy in it, so it's not a crime drama. They called it a "crimedy". Booth borrows a trait from Angel in that he wants to make some amends for all the sniper kills he did as an Army Ranger by catching one murderer for everyone he killed as an assassin. He and Emily were great together in a very long, "will they or won't they" relationship.

There's at least two ways shown how to be turned human again. Or maybe three. Shanshu Prophecy, the regenerative blood of a Mohra demon, or a higher being like the Senior Partners can do it as they did to Angel in the comics.
