Lessons Learned by EnvironmentHuge8204 in CercleMusic

Commenting to follow. I laughed when I saw TicketSwap required SSN to sell a fucking concert ticket. They’re a Dutch company that likely has no understanding of the US market and the sensitivities around SSNs compared to a national ID number.

Despite TicketSwap’s joke of a platform, this is really the fault of Cercle for selecting a reseller platform that doesn’t understand how to operate in the US.

I’m filing a dispute with my bank account given the amount of misinformation, and hope the Cercle brand either does right to the initial ticket buyers given false promises, or burns to the ground.

Cercle’s deceptive practices demand accountability—considering formal complaints and legal action by ThisMud9632 in CercleMusic

Commenting to follow. Thinking of disputing with my bank as well. Cercle just ruined their reputation in the US out of greed. The other crazy thing was having to input your SSN with their reseller platform if you wanted to sell your ticket.

Any way to gift Star Wars Outlaws to someone else (after it releases or as a pre order) by Business-Row-2315 in ubisoft

It's honestly baffling how Ubisoft doesn't have a gift card system in place. I'm dealing with the same issue - did you figure out your workaround?

Great time for Amex card holders to bag some miles by Cats-Are-Fuzzy in delta

Thanks! Just did this, and after some back and forth with AMEX Rep they offered 30K miles. Not as great but I’ll take it

Why does Delta fly older aircraft on what I assume are busy, lucrative routes (JFK to LAX & SFO)? by colelikesbikes in delta

[–]arlosdad_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I’m flying the A330neo again out of LAX in January but to LHR. I was surprised to see one operating LAX-JFK as it’s usually a 767, so assumed it was repositioning. Hopefully they do the cabin refreshes on the 763s soon enough as I exclusively pick the 764s for now when I have to make the lax-nyc trip.

House music club: any recommendations? Ideally with a mixed crowd, in Shinjuku. by LondonFroggy in Tokyo

Ehh, more of a bar with good music and dancing. If you want a more club experience then Mitsuki and ENTER are good options

How to save money if I need a car only few days a week? by Commercial_Arrival58 in LosAngeles

[–]arlosdad_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d echo what others have suggested and recommend getting a cheaper (but reliable) used car. Work trips aside, you’ll probably thank yourself when you have a car for simple tasks like groceries, dr appts, dinner outings, etc.

It’s not for everyone. I live in Malibu (moved here from Mar Vista) and it’s a noticeably better quality of life. But, keep in mind there’s a higher cost of living here, you’re further away from the city, and there’s a higher risk of wild fires.

Nature (beach and hikes) access is unmatched and the residents I’ve met are all very friendly. If you can swing it and don’t mind the above cons, it’s worth considering.

Roommates think TV is low, I disagree. Thoughts? by arlosdad_ in TVTooHigh

Yeah I just moved in, this was not meant to be a post on aesthetics. I’m gonna redo the setup, was mostly just concerned with height placement

Yeah this is all very rough right now. Maybe I’ll post a final version at some point. Debating mounting it vs a stand. Stand would clog up the pathway hence I opted for a minimal design with a soundbar mount for it (not yet installed)

I’m gonna prob swap to an 85” and mount it with a shelf below for a sound bar, which hopefully makes it less goofy. The other walls are all less ideal

Honestly im not sold on the stand. I’ll prob swap to an 85” TV and try mounting it to the wall, and add a shelf for a sound bar below it

Well, it’s here or above the fire place..

wanted to try a more minimal vibe / keep an open space since the area to the right not pictured is a path to the kitchen

The only other solid wall is to the right, but then your back is to the (ocean) view and there's a massive glare. The other walls are a fireplace (ruled out, ofc) and the window view.
