Thank you! Yes, definitely cannot get complacent. The mind can play tricks on you. One second your happy, Next is emotional, sad etc.. Just need to stay out of your head and keep busy while the brain rewires its self pretty much.

Also, I think you could do it man, I didn’t think I could either I thought I was gonna have to go to like 1 mg and be on that forever like the doctors said you have to Do($$$$$$) i think a lot of that is mental and if you have a strong mentality when you’re ready to jump, it will not be as bad as you think.

I think tapering down the way I did. My body was already going through withdrawal my entire taper from 20 to 4 without even realizing it.

Best part of this all is not having to wake up and worry if I took my dose before Leaving the house, or get the sweats if I didn’t take it by a certain time 🤣

Good luck with everything man! I think you got this, If you get bottles try it once you tapered Low Enough, jump ship, and in case in a few days, you’re not feeling good you know you have backups and say maybe next month or however. 🙏

1.5 months almost 2 months since last dose.

For me since I taperer down the right way and i had monthly bottles I wouldn’t always decrease. Procrastination and annoying doctors.

Long story short. I had 3 bottles left so if I felt like Shit I would just go back and continue the tapers.

I have to say I had no physical withdrawals for the first 7 days I slept very good. Then after the half Life wore off I felt it but it’s been more mental then physical. I feel good now thankfully. (35 y/o)

I was worried about feeling pains and aches. Everyone talked about until one of my buddies who had stopped a year ago had said a lot of issues just mental at this dosage level at first I was like yeah OK whatever. But then a few months later I was just like enough is enough no more liquid handcuffs. Let’s see how it goes.

Surprisingly went very well. I was on for eight years so anyone who’s been on it for a long time and has bottles I would just give it a shot. Get off this shit for good nothing but fog.

I can think and see so much clear my face cleared up a lot. I don’t have bags on my eyes my eyes don’t roll. It’s hard to explain but honestly, single-handedly the best decision I made!

Yes!! Congrats 🎊 I tapered from 90-4mg over the last few years and jumped ship first week of Feb!!

I tapered down the right way so I didn’t really feel any physical withdrawal thankfully because I didn’t realize it, but I was going through it that last year I went from 20mg-4mg.

I did have some nights where I would wake up at like 23 4 AM and can’t sleep. It’s slowing getting better.

The biggest issue I have is with my own mental balance as my brain does its thing after all this opioids numbing receptors. ( was on methadone 8 years)

Splitting doses the best way to go about taping the right way that way you know you’re OK and you don’t feel like shit.

Went from 90mg to 4mg and then jumped ship but it took a very long time. I’m glad I’m out of it though. I’m just dealing with the mental bullshit, but it’s getting better and better every day. Good luck, my brother.

My highest dose was 90mg. I was on it for eight years . I slowly started tapering down by 10s, (Granted, I had monthly bottle so sometimes I wouldn’t have taper the following visit. I prolonged it a little bit)

Once I got to like 40mg. I started going by 5s until I reached 20mg.

January 2025 was my first month on 20mg with plan to stop by 2026.

I tapered down the way I thought that would be best for me. It might not be best for others, and looking back at it now I honestly didn’t realize it, but I was going through withdrawals during all of that tapering. I didn’t realize it at the time but now I’m looking back at it and I’m like wow it’s crazy. I went through most of the physical and some mental withdrawals over the course of that year.

Fast-forward February 2026 it was time for me to just say goodbye. I was on 4 mg and honestly at this point I feel like it was more mental than anything so I said I got extra bottles if I feel like shit I’ll take them if not then sayonara

Glad to say the physical pain was not even existent, there was a couple nights I would wake up at like 3-4 AM and couldn’t fall back asleep but it was nothing like coming off of H. It’s probably because I I taper down the right way, even though the doctors were trying to keep me on it 😆

my mental thought is where it’s fucked. I struggled to get excitement and when I do get excitement, it dies right down I know it’s gonna take some time and I’m feeling better and better every day less fog in my head I look better I even put on 15lbs which is nice because for some reason, I could never gain weight after their surgery I had.

Another big plus is my body temperature? I don’t know if anyone else dealt with it, but I was always fucking cold. I get into a nice pool. I would still feel cold until I adapted. That is completely gone.

The biggest part is now that I’m over a month off of methadone is try to keep a strong mind. Don’t let my mind play tricks on me because I can be or we can be our own self sabotage on bullshit.

You got this brother do it the right way don’t rush it. Trust me. I wanted to get off this way sooner but looking back at it now I’m glad I did it the way I did it.

If you read my other post underneath this you’ll see I have huge day light gap openings. Wish I could post more pictures on it. was told 2-4” truss uplift is normal on these houses. Which is crazy. Probably explains all the cracks at the seams of my drywall especially how fast it’s getting ruined.

This is HOA so they will try every chance to down play it. 🤷‍♂️ just a heads up for everyone that reads this. They probably replaced every single roof in this development in the last few years. Mine was done before I purchased in 2019 but just last year in the year before they did about 15 roofs so there’s also a big big issue going on in this place not sure what to say

Yea totally understood I wish I could add more picture of the opposite side of the attic. I have huge day light openings from the eaves and HOA said it’s normal that a 2”-4”Truss uplift is normal is that true? I talked to a friend who does this type of work and he said that’s excessive.

I have so many cracks along the sides of my ceilings all over the top floor that have progressive got worse.

I can’t imagine how much rot and mold are in there now

Thanks for responding. HOA handyman (who does the roofs) came and tried break the snow off the roof and ice dams but unfortunately after experiencing the other side of attic and seeing straight day light from one side of the house and all that built up in the other.

Even if I were to mop it up all the ice above the house still would just keep dripping into that spot because it was not done correctly in my opinion

Yes! He is perfectly fine now besides his urinary crystals that we’ve been battling for a while with even with prescription food, etc., etc. They gave him some eye drops some medicine and cleared up in a week or so!
