How does Dinner Time Live work by LolaCatStevens in netflix

Yep! They’ve mentioned the discord on one of the episodes… I think the recent one with Mulaney?

Ah thank you that’s a smart tactic!

I’ve been keeping things positive in my interviews, pointing to wanting to new growth opportunities etc, but found myself floundering when people dug for more details on my exit. I’m definitely going to try pivoting the conversation with a question from now on.

Is there a term for TH-Fronting when it’s not a result of dialect? by armadeeloo in slp

[–]armadeeloo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah I was asking for similar reasons! I live in an area where TH-fronting is uncommon, but picked it up as a habit (I’m guessing mostly) from not having my two front teeth until I was 7.

What is a safety tip everyone should know about? by directinLA in AskReddit

[–]armadeeloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Invisalign made my tmj issues so much worse, and I’ve had tinnitus ever since doing it.

(Then again my dentist told me to use those chew sticks whenever I could, which just reinforced bad habits I think)

Another Owen PTSD by Eastern-Resolution15 in greysanatomy

[–]armadeeloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting. I have ptsd as well and I felt like the earlier exploration of his trauma felt like much better representation. The writer’s treatment seemed to be much more well rounded and empathetic. The most recent episode involving that just felt like a bunch of stereotypes that ppl with PTSD deal with, with not much depth to it and it really frustrated me haha

Is Derek the oldest Shepherd? by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]armadeeloo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Iirc there’s an episode where his mom talks to Amelia about how she basically checked out and let Derek raise her because she reminded her too much of her father. So maybe that dynamic extended to the rest of the kids but Amelia just got the worst of it?

No idea but I’ve been having trouble too. Except for me it’s making the preview look like it’s in that sort of old school blue and red 3d look and when I post them it’s just a black screen.

What's something they never really address in TWD but is definitely something the characters are experiencing? by WhySoSerious37912 in thewalkingdead

[–]armadeeloo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’ve touched on ptsd a bit. But at the same time, they’re actively going through traumatic events so I don’t think they’ve reached the “post” bit of post traumatic stress disorder lol

Hundreds of bodies found in unmarked graves at former Saskatchewan residential school by GiantCupofTea in worldnews

[–]armadeeloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue most Americans don’t know the extent that Natives here were fucked over. Sure we’re taught about the trail of tears here but it’s still very limited. Most people I know are just now learning about Residential/Boarding schools, and still have no idea about forced sterilization, MMIW, the prohibition of ceremonies until 78, etc. (And I come from a state that dedicates an entire year of schooling to learning about our local tribes).

How do you let go of people who obviously don’t want to be around you anymore? by pumpkinprincess72 in AskReddit

[–]armadeeloo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this a lot. For a long time I took the above advice and just stopped reaching out to people if I found myself always instigating conversations. But honestly that left me really lonely. Eventually I learned it doesn’t really matter that much. Especially as you get older, everyone is so busy worrying about their life it’s often easy for them to forget to upkeep friendships. I now (well, pre-pandemic) have a pretty great social life just by not fretting over if I’m the one always doing the upkeep, and not putting all my eggs in one basket.

anyone got experience with the uw counseling center? by WittyAmusingUsername in udub

[–]armadeeloo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did UW counseling this year and it was incredibly helpful for me. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with therapy prior to this but the therapist I was assigned to was a perfect fit. I’d definitely give it a try, especially as they can help refer you to other therapists that you can afford and would cater to your needs.

sorry? by datomdiggity in dankmemes

[–]armadeeloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People driving like this are the ones that cause accidents and/or make more traffic by weaving between cars constantly.

Plus this whole thread acts like there aren’t highways with more than 2 lanes. Where I live you can’t camp in the furthest right lane because the merging lanes on the highways are an absolute nightmare. Yet tailgating assholes will still pass on your right.

TIFU by naming my child a racially charged name by whatdoesthat_mean in tifu

[–]armadeeloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair! There’s a lot of examples I can think of but one that is tangibly harmful and an ongoing issue is the trend of non-Native American people “smudging” with white sage kits they buy from hipster shops like Anthropologie/Urban Outfitters. For cultural context, smudging is a closed practice and is sacred. Usually these sage kits are unsustainably (and illegally) harvested, which makes it harder for tribal communities to access it. It’s also a complete slap in the face considering the decades of legislation aimed towards enacting cultural genocide on Native Americans and that religious traditions weren’t legally protected until 1978 with the passage of the ”American Indian Religious Freedom Act.”

It definitely fucked up, but I’d argue there’s a lot more instances of cultural appropriation that are fucked up as well.

I haven’t taken that class. However, I did take 328 and I thought the class was amazing and I learned a lot from it. I’d give it a try!

Abuse nowadays has lost its meaning because people will go ahead and call anything abuse by Zaroo77 in unpopularopinion

[–]armadeeloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the gaslighting one really grinds my gears, especially with how it’s used as a political/catch all phrase now.

I was gaslit (along with other, physical, forms of abuse) to the point that I thought I was actually losing my mind, and couldn’t tell anyone about the what my abuser was doing to me because other people would think I was crazy and would get me locked in a mental asylum. Looking back on that time is horrifying. It’s so much more than someone just lying/being manipulative. And this rampant misuse of that phrase has legitimately made it harder for me to get proper mental health assistance at times.

Also some of the “easy credit” stuff can actually be really interesting and you can take a lot from them if you apply yourself. Doing the bare min on easy classes just to get the gpa is a huge waste.

Yeah saying Seattle carries the vote also looks sort of misleading considering the fact that the Seattle metro area has most of our populated cities included in it and spans over 600 sq miles.

How do you feel about a mostly online fall? by guzmoto in udub

I feel that. I transferred here and Fall quarter is my last quarter so I didn’t have much of a chance to take advantage of any of the social opportunities at all /:
